April 4, 1960 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held 'ori Monday, April 4, 1960 <br />at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the previous regular meeting <br />were read and approved. <br />Applications for the Fire Department are hereby accepted and placed 'on -file for A1- <br />oysius Slaby. <br />Nick Horvath recommends installation of the following street lights: <br />4000 lumen at: <br />Westwood Lane and Idlewood <br />2WWestwood Lane <br />232 Westwood Lane <br />224 Westwood Lane <br />4-on Rilbourde Road, from Portage Avenue to Colfax Avenue <br />6000 lumen at: <br />8-on Portage Avenue, from Lathrop to Colfax Road <br />Applications for the Police Auxiliary School Patrol are hereby accepted and placed <br />on file for Genevieve Scott. <br />The Clerk of the Board is directed to advertise for 4 sedans for the Police Department. <br />Special police application is hereby accepted and placed on file for Virgil Kenneth <br />Name. <br />< A petition is hereby received from Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Jones, 2629 West Washington <br />� Street petitioning for street lighting from'2624 W. Washington to the alley. Petition <br />referred to the Electrical Department for investigation and recommendation. <br />1 <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was called ad- <br />journed at 10:35 A.M. <br />Attest: <br />�7 <br />Ir. - _ — lei, �./.►. <br />. Sabo, Clerk <br />April 11, 1960 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, April 11, 1960 <br />at 10:00 A.M. Irving J. Smith was absent. Minutes of the previous regular meeting <br />were read and approved. <br />A petition is hereby received asking for the improvement of Pennsylvania Avenue from <br />High Street to Hoffman Court by the construction of street lighting at Hoffman Ct. <br />and Pennsylvania Avenue. Petition referred to the Electrical Department for investi- <br />gation and report back to the Board. <br />Nicholas Horvath, Supt. of the Electrical Department, recommends installation of the <br />following street lights which the Board approves: <br />4000 lumen light at Washington and Logan Streets <br />4000 lumen lights at_2629 West Washington Avenue <br />109000 lumen light at McKinley and Logan Streets <br />Comes now Bert S. Cichowioz, City Sealer, and submits to the Board the monthly report <br />for March, 1960. Accepted and placed on file. Further, Mr. Cichowicz, is granted <br />permission to attend the 47th Annual Conference of Indiana Association of Inspectors <br />of Weights and Measures which will be held in Fort Wayne, Indiana on April 18, 19,and <br />20, 1960. <br />Comes now Fire Chief Andrzejewski and requests permission of your Honorable Board for <br />Capt. Robert Rzepka to attend the Purdue University Arson School to be held in West <br />Lafayette, Indiana, on Monday, April 25 through April 299 1960. Permission granted. <br />k <br />
