February 8, 1960 <br />A regular,meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, February 8, 1960 <br />at 10:00 A. M. All members were present. Minutes of the regular meeting of February 1, <br />1960 were read and approved. <br />Applications for the Fire Department are placed on file for Jerome Badur, Frank Glon, <br />Kay James, Jerome Gyoles, and Robert Snider. <br />Comes now Edward L. Bergan, Lt. of the Detective Bureau and submits to the Board his <br />resignation from the South Bend Police Department to become effective the 21st day of <br />February," 1960. Approved and accepted this 8th day of February, 1960. <br />The monthly report of the Weights & Measures Department submitted by Bert S. Cichowicz, <br />City Sealer, is hereby accepted and placed on file. <br />The Board hereby grants to Rev. Bowles a 30 day period in which to submit plans for the <br />repair of his building located at 318 Iowa Street. It is understood that these plans <br />must meet with the Building Code standards. Hearing to be held on March 7, 1960. <br />Comes now Chief Andrzejewski of the Fire Department and requests permission for himself <br />to attend the annual meeting of the Indiana Fire Chief's Association on Monday, February 15, <br />1960 and further for permission for Bn. Chief to attend the Planning Session of the Fall <br />Fire School at Purdue University on Tuesday, February 9, 1960. <br />,z�l Nick Horvath recommends installation of the following 4000 lumen lights: <br />529 North Hill Street <br />428 S. Camden Street <br />1211 Mishawaka Avenue, rear alley, 2500 lumen light <br />Huey and Werwinski Streets <br />The time now being after 10:00 A.M. it was so announced and the bids for the Fire and <br />Police Departments were opened and read aloud. Proofs of publication in the South Bend <br />Tribune with an affidavit signed by Robert DeLong and in the Record with an affidavit <br />signed by E. H.
