INDIANA 46601 <br />Members of the Council <br />South Bend Common Council <br />4th floor County -City Building <br />South Bend, IN 46601 <br />Dear Council Members: <br />219/284 -9742 <br />I'm presenting for your approval at the November 20, 1978 meeting a resolution <br />by the Council approving the Mayor's application to the National Endowment for <br />the Humanities for development funds for exhibits at Discovery Hall. <br />Joseph A. Wetzel and Associates has recently completed the planning study which <br />basically laid out the plans for permanent exhibits laying out the Industrial <br />History of South Bend. It is our hope that through this application we may ob- <br />tain partial funding for design and construction of the results of the planning <br />study. Total projected cost for this phase is $500,000.00 with $175,000.00 <br />coming from this grant application, and the balance coming from private con- <br />tributions and in -kind match of staff time. <br />We are under a deadline for submitting of this application, that being December <br />1, 1973.
