November 169 1959 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, November 16, 1959 <br />at 0:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the previous regular meeting were <br />read and approved. <br />Applications for the Fire Department were examined and placed on file for William Kline. <br />Applications for the Police Auxiliary School Patrol were' examined and placedonfile for , <br />Maryellen Laurita, Louis Kuspa, Violet Shirts, Maude Botteron, and Madie Wallace. <br />Comes now Police Chief Dutrieux and submits to the Board a request for retirement of <br />Richard Crush, Det. Sgt., to take effect as of December 10, 1959. Request approved. <br />Nick Horvath, Superintendent of the Electrical Department, recommends installation of <br />4000 lumen lights at 2230 Roger Street and at the intersection of Corby and Turnock <br />Streets. <br />A petition is hereby received from Mr. and Mrs. John Tomaszewski, 745 S. Albert and <br />several others asking for the improvement of Albert Street from Sample to Ford and also <br />a petition from Frank Van.Driessche, 842 S. Albert and several others asking for the <br />improvement of Albert Street, north of Sample Street by the construction of street light- <br />ing. Petitions now referred to the City Electrical Department for investigation and <br />recommendation. <br />The bid <br />for the Fire Department <br />is now awarded to: <br />r� <br />Freeman <br />Spicer Company <br />Ir. <br />Total bid <br />price ----------- $3,493.80 <br />The bid <br />for the Police Department is now awarded to: <br />Newman Altman Company <br />Total bid <br />price ----------- $1980.00 <br />T Here being no further business <br />to come before the Board, it was so announced and the <br />meeting <br />was called adjourned at <br />10:40 A.M. <br />CHAIRMA <br />Attest: Anth4nYV. Sabo, Clerk <br />November 199 1959 <br />A special meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Thursday, November 19, <br />1959 at 2:00 PM. All members were present. <br />Upon recommendation of Police Chief Dutrieux, the Board hereby approves the appointment <br />of Capt. James E. Trevey for promotion as Inspector of the Detective Bureau to replace <br />Insp. John Porte.
