Lane and informs the Board that contracts: have not been let to de --': o <br />molish or remodel the structure located at 1817 S. Miami Street. The Board directed <br />the Building Commissioner to inform Devere Goheen that he will advertise for for bids <br />to demolish the building on the 27th day of July, 1959. <br />A petition was submitted for a street light on the north side of East Altgeld from Vernon <br />west to the west boundary line of the parking lot of the Ridgedale Presbyterian Church. <br />It was approved and directed to the City Electrical Department. <br />Comes now Walter Glass, member of the Council of the City of South Bend, on behalf of David <br />J. Pilger and others and requests the installation of a street light. Said light located <br />as follows: In the vicinity of North -South and East-West alleys between Mishawaka Avenue <br />and Vine and Ironwood and 23rd Street in the City of South Bend, Indiana, Further, the <br />City Electrical Department is directed to investigate the area for proper placement of <br />street light and further confer with Walter Glass as to proper site for said light. The <br />department is directed to act forthwith. <br />Applications for the Police Department were accepted and placed on file for Eddie Nailon. <br />The monthly report of the Police Department was accepted and placed on -file in the Board. <br />Officer James E. Robison submitted an officer's report requesting military leave from <br />August 2 through August 16 to attend annual summer training to be held at Camp McCoy, <br />Wisconsin. Approved by the Board. <br />Det. Sgt. Russell Hunt submitted an officer's report requesting leave from Aug. 16 to <br />Aug. 30 for Military duty at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
