June 8, 1959 <br />OR <br />C <br />1 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday,.June 8, 1959 at <br />10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the previous regular meeting were <br />read and approved, Claims in the total amount of $4032.8.7 were approved and ordered <br />paid to the following.suppliers: <br />American Dist. Vascil. <br />The monthly reports of the Police Department and the Weights & Measures Department <br />are hereby accepted and placed on file in this office. <br />Permission is hereby granted to Bert S. Cichowicz, City Sealer, to attend the National <br />Weights & Measures Conference in Washington, D. C., June 8 thru June 12th, 1959. <br />Special Police application is hereby approved for Mr. Jack Block, 302 East Dubail <br />Street from employment from June 16, 1959 through July 24, 1959 in the Detective <br />Bureau of the South Bend Police Department. <br />Permission granted to Captain Rzepka and Lt. Hosinski to attend a one -day Governor's <br />Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 159 1959. <br />A petition is submitted to the Board from John A. Binder, 118. E. Farneman and several <br />others asking for the installation of a street light in the middle of the 100 block of <br />E. Farneman. Petition is now referred to the City Electrical Department for study and <br />recommendation. <br />Nicholas Horvath, Superintendent of the Electrical Department, recommends the Installa- <br />tion of the following street lights: (4000 lumen) <br />301 South Dundee Street, 304 S. Iowa Street, Woodmount and Briar Way, <br />Woodmount and Malvern Way, Brian Way (East), Malvern Way (East), 900 E. <br />Dognoyer, and relocate 1-1000 lumen U.G. street lamp at 1014 E. Donald <br />to 1021 E. Donald to a 4000 lumen <br />There being no other business to come before the Board,it was so announced and the <br />meeting was adjourned at 10:45 A.M. <br />
