June 269 1958 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Thursday, June 26, 1958 <br />at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the previous regular meeting <br />were read and approved. Claims in the total amount of $2,796.81 were approved and <br />ordered paid tb=the following suppliers: <br />American Dist. Gloyeski, <br />#122 is hereby received and <br />placed on: <br />file in the office of the Board. <br />Officer Frank V. Pinterics submits to the Board at this time a report of expenses that <br />will be incurred for attending the conference of the International Association of Auto <br />Theft Investigators in Memphis, Tennessee from July 23 to 26, inclusive. Permission is <br />granted for said Pinterics to attend the conference. <br />Applications for the Fire Department were accepted and placed on file for Joseph Lickhay. <br />Applications for the Police Department were accepted and placed on file for James Walk- <br />er, and Ernest Rozanski, and Rashid Irsheid, and Thomas Owens. <br />The monthly report of the Police Department is hereby accepted and placed on file in <br />the office of the Board.. <br />The time now being after 10:00 A.M. it was so announced and the bids for the Central <br />Alarm Headquarters, Central Fire. Station, and Police Departments were opened and read <br />aloud. Proofs of publication in the South Bend Tribune with an affidavit sigend by <br />C. G. Livengood and in the Record with an affidavit signed by E. E. Hickey are hereby <br />submitted to the Board and found sufficient. The bids received read as follows: <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Freeman Spicer Company A non -collusion affidavit and a certi- <br />520 S. Lafayette St. fied check in the amount of $616.00 <br />South Bend, Indiana accompanied the bid. <br />Three(3) 1958 BW4 Studebaker Commanders Deluxe 4-door sedans <br />Total net price ----------- <br />for Three units ----------- $6,153.00 <br />After checking the bid and said bid having met with all requirements as set out in <br />the specifications, the Board now awards said contract to Freeman Spicer Company. <br />CENTRAL ALARM HEADQUARTERS <br />GAmewell Company <br />Newton Upper Falls, Mass. <br />Anon -collusion affidavit and a certified <br />check in the amount of $3800.00 accompanied <br />the bid. <br />Equipment as per bid for Central Alarm Headquarters <br />1 <br />Total bid price ---- -$37,567.00 <br />
