84 <br />May 21, 1958 <br />A special meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Wednesday, May 21, <br />1958 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. <br />Police Chief, J. Charles Dutrieux appeared before the Board and submitted the <br />following recommendations of promotions in the South Bend Police Department <br />to the Board for consideration and approval: <br />That Inspector Clement Hazinski be transferred to Traffic <br />Engineer's office to assume duties of Traffic Engineer. <br />That Captain John Klaybor be promoted to rank of Inspector <br />and assume duties.of Inspector of Traffic Division. <br />That Lieut. John Kasprzak be promoted to rank of Captain <br />and retain his present assignment. <br />That Sergeant Matthew Zarembka:_be.promoted to rank of Lieut. <br />and assume duties'of 3rd Detail Commander. <br />That officer John Kreczmer be promoted to rank of Detective <br />Sergeant and be assigned to 4 P.M. to 12 P.M. Detail in Juvenile <br />Division. <br />That Officer Melvin Pasalich be promoted to rank of Sergeant and <br />report to Inspector Klaybor for assignment. <br />The Board now approves recommendations, --,as submitted by the Police Chief and <br />promotions will be effective immediately this 21st day of May, 1958. <br />Mr. Van Gates, President of the Chamber of Commerce, appeared before the Board <br />and requested permission to close Michigan Street between Colfax and Wayne Sts. <br />and to place banners over the street in said area on Monday, May 26, 1958 in <br />honor of "You Auto Byy Now" week. Permission is granted on condition that the <br />banners are put up for that one day only (May 26) and will be takendown at the <br />end of same day. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting <br />was adjourned at 10:30 A.M. <br />CHAIRMAN <br />F <br />ATTEST: ANTT1%Y `,J.
