1 <br />The Clerk of the Board is hereby directed to advertise for 2 vehicles for <br />the Fire Department and also 1 3-wheeled servi-cycle for the Police Depart- <br />ment. Publications to appear in both the South Bend Tribune and The Record <br />on the 24th and 31st days of January and bids to be received on the 3rd day <br />of February, 1957. <br />The Fire Chief appeared before the Board and requested permission for himself <br />and Ass't. Chief Doran to attend the Fire Administrators Seminar at Purdue Uni- <br />versity in Lafayette, Indiana on the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th days of February, <br />1958. Permission granted. <br />The time now being after 10:00 A.M. (CST) it was so announced and the bids <br />for the Fire Department were opened. Proofs of publication having appeared <br />before the Board in the South•Bend Tribune and The Record on the loth and <br />17th day of January, 1958 were submitted to the Board and found sufficient. <br />The bids received read as follows: <br />The Seagrave Corporation A non -collusion affadivat and a <br />Columbus 7, Ohio bidders bond in the amount of <br />$2,700.00 accompanied the bid. <br />One (1) Seagrave Model 900-B-1000 G.F.M. Triple Combination <br />Pumping Engine with canopy cab, 300 H.P. motor, 300 <br />gallon tank, auxiliary high pressure pump and equip- <br />ment as specified for the net sum of <br />---------------$269553.00 <br />_Great Lakes Fire Eauipment Company A non -collusion affidavit and a <br />(Ward LaFrance Corporation) bidders bond in the amount of <br />Barrington, Illinois $29600.00 accompanied the bid. <br />One(1) Model 1110T Ward LaFrance 1000 GPM Triple Combination <br />Fire Apparatus all in accordance with your published <br />specifications <br />Maxim Motor Company <br />Middleboro, Massachusetts <br />----------------$25,775.00 <br />A non -collusion affidavit and a <br />bidder's bond in the amount of <br />$29600.00 accompanied the bid. <br />One (1)Model 23610 Maxim custom-built motor driven <br />1,000 gallon pumping engine with side entrance <br />canopy cab, as per your specifications, complete <br />for <br />---------------$23,997.25 <br />The bids will be taken under advisement and the contract will be awarded at <br />the next regular board meeting or not later than 30 days from this date. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the <br />journed at 10:45 A.M.
