RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, PROCLAIMING <br />MARCH 12 -18, "SOUTH BEND ENERGY AWARENESS <br />DAYS." <br />WHEREAS, energy efficiency is recognized as a key to <br />easing the energy problem in South Bend and nationwide; and <br />WHEREAS, the education of the public and the implementa- <br />tion of the conservation ethic into our lifestyle is vital <br />to the growth and future welfare of the citizens of South <br />Bend; and <br />WHEREAS, increasing the level of public consciousness <br />toward reserving energy resources for the future will create <br />better understanding and cooperation as we meet the energy <br />situation; and <br />WHEREAS, the recognition of the economic impact of <br />energy in South Bend and the values of energy conservation <br />measured by the dollars that can be saved by every citizen <br />will reaffirm the support behind energy efficiency; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council <br />of the City of South Bend, Indiana as follows: <br />SECTION I. The Common Council of the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana, hereby fully supports "South Bend Energy <br />Awareness Days" organized for the week of March 12 -18 by <br />the South Bend Energy Conservation Commission. <br />SECTION II.
