RESOLUTION NO. 737 -79 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, COMMENDING <br />ROGER O. PARENT, FOR HIS EIGHT YEARS OF <br />SERVICE AS FOURTH DISTRICT COUNCILMAN FOR <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND. INDIANA. <br />WHEREAS, Roger O. Parent has been a Councilman for the <br />Fourth District of the City of South Bend since 1971; and <br />WHEREAS, Councilman Parent has served with distinction <br />as President of the Common Council for five years; and <br />WHEREAS, Councilman Parent has sponsored many innovative <br />ordinances and resolutions especially in the areas of residen- <br />tial neighborhoods, human resources and improving the operations <br />of City government; <br />WHEREAS, Councilman Parent exemplifies a fine example of <br />a hard - working and dedicated public servant. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the <br />City of South Bend, Indiana: <br />SECTION I. That the citizens of South Bend, through their <br />Common Council, commend and congratulate Roger O. Parent for <br />his eight years of service as a Councilman for the Fourth District. <br />SECTION II. That the Common Council wish Councilman Parent <br />continued success and a bright and successful future as the next <br />Mayor of the City of South Bend. <br />SECTION III.
