RESOLUTION NO. 7�5 1iJ <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND APPROVING THE ISSUANCE <br />OF LICENSE RENEWALS FOR SCRAP AND JUNK <br />DEALERS. <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend <br />recognizes the contributions that recycling operations such as <br />junk and scrap yards make to the community; and the Council further <br />realizes that such operations must be reasonably regulated in order <br />to minimize any environmental or aesthetic nuisances which may be <br />created by the operations of scrap and junk yards within the <br />city; and <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend has <br />enacted reasonable rules and regulations with regard to the <br />issuance of licenses and the operation of the scrap and junk <br />dealers; and <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with these rules and regulations, <br />inspections of the scrap and junk yards have been completed by <br />the Environmental Protection Office and the Fire Prevention Bureau, <br />and it has been determined that no code violations exist on the <br />properties; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works, at its meeting held <br />on February 4, 1980, approved the renewal of licenses for the <br />various scrap and junk dealers in the City of South Bend, subject <br />to approval of the Common Council. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Co=on Council of <br />the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: <br />SECTION 1.
