APPLICATION SUMMARY <br />(Summarize in one paragraph the contents of the application.) <br />Discovery Hall Museum is a new (1977) municipal museum of the industrial history of <br />the South Bend /Mishawaka area. Primary support comes from an annual appropriation from the <br />South Bend Common Council with additional support from donations, revenues, and volunteer <br />services. The museum has a full time staff of four (director, curator, secretary, and <br />Collections technicial) and a part time staff of four (guard, maintenance, and two <br />volunteers). The museum will be buildi -ng new permanent exhibits in the near future and <br />expects an increase in visitation and a greater demand for services as a result. A <br />Curator of Education is needed to help meet these demands. A grant from IMS will allow <br />Discovery Hall to provide better services for all its visitors and guarantee that curren10 <br />levels of programs will continue. <br />
