November 9, 1964 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of^Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />November 9, 1964 at 10:00 A.A. All members were present. Minutes <br />of the last regular meeting were read and approved. No vouchers <br />were approved for payment. <br />BM VERTI • POLICE SEDAN } <br />The Board, having been informed that neither of the bids received <br />for the Police Department four door sedan opened at the November 2, <br />1964 Board meeting met specifications, both bids are hereby rejected <br />and the Clerk of the Board directed to readvertse for one four -door <br />sedan for use of the Police Department. <br />Advertisements will be placed in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri-County News on November 13 and November 20, 1964. Sealed bids <br />will be opened on November 23, 1964 at 10:00 A.M. <br />P T O• ELECTRICAL DIEPARTMENJS LTG <br />A Petition from residents of the area requesting a street light <br />on Notre Dame Avenue between Jefferson and Wayne, east side, middle <br />of the block was submitted to the Board, accepted and referred to <br />the Electrical Department for investigation and recommendation. <br />PETITION_: 2AUIC E G TRAFFIC SIG <br />A Petition from residents of the area for a four way stop sign at <br />the corner of Meade and Ford Streets was accepted by the Board and <br />referred to the Traffic Engineer for investigation and recommendation, <br />Still -STANDARD DIVISION i IJMING } <br />Comes now John Grabarz with reference to property located at 506 <br />27th Street which property had been ordered demolished and Mr. Grabarz <br />directed to advertise for bids for demolition due to the fact that <br />the property had not been brought up to code. <br />Mr. Grabarz advised the Board that Mr. Cook, owner of property, had <br />advised that he was selling property and that the new owner had <br />I romised to take care of necessary repairs and that Mr. Cook had <br />requested that this order for bids be rescinded. <br />Mr. Cook appeared before the Board and advised the Board that the <br />back section of this property had been torn down. He further stated <br />that the new owner had already hired a contractot to do the repairs. <br />He requested a 30 day continuance in order to get the work completed. <br />The Board granted this request and directed Mr. Grabarz to check the <br />property on progress. <br />APPLI MIONS: POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />The following applications for the Police Department were accepted <br />and ordered placed on file: Ronald Michael. Golba and Michael Clement <br />Borkowski. <br />SPECIQ POLICE BOND <br />A Special Police Bond for Special Police Officer Andrew S. Konya, <br />presently employed by Torrington Company was approved and ordered <br />placed on file. <br />
