October 26, 1964 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />October 26, 1964 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes <br />of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were <br />approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />BUILDING DEPARMUT; HOUSE MOVE <br />Comes now Forrest West, Building Commissioner,,and requests permission <br />to move a house from 602 Klinger Street to 130 S. Liberty Street. The <br />owner of the house is Willis C. Divine and the mover is Lewis Mitschelen. <br />Mr. West advised the Board that all Code provisions had been met <br />and that all interested parties had been notified. <br />There being no remonstrators and no written remonstrances having <br />been filed with the Board, the house move is approved as requested, <br />=-STANDARD DIVISION: BURING <br />Comes now John. Grabarz; Supervisor of theSub-Standard Division. of <br />x the Building Department, with a progress -report on property located <br />at 2010 S. Michigan -Street. <br />1 <br />Mr. Grabarz reported that Paul Schwertley, attorney representing the <br />owners of subject property, had advised him that the prospective owner <br />.had earnest money on the property and that in two weeks time the sale <br />would be completed. According to Mr. Schwertley, the new owner will <br />tear down the building. <br />SUB -STANDARD DIVISION: OPEN BIDS DEMOLITION <br />John Grabarz submitted sealed bids to the Board for demolition of=.:a <br />structure located at 915 S. Carroll Street. <br />The following bids were received: <br />A & J Demolition <br />318 N. O'Brien St. <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Chas, Clou&h Demolition <br />25412 State Road #2 <br />South Bend, Ind. <br />$860.00 Retain salvage <br />875.00 Stack salvage <br />$440.00 Retain salvage <br />500.00 Stack salvage <br />Since both bids are in order, and it appearing that the bid of Chas,: Clough <br />Demolition is the lowest and best bid, it is now so awarded to Chas,Clough <br />Demolition. <br />John Grabarz submitted sealed bids for the demolition of a structure <br />located at 715 S. Fellows St. <br />The following bids were received: <br />A & D Demolition $450.00 Retain salvage <br />318 N. O'Brien St. 465.00 Stack -.salvage <br />South Bend, Ind. <br />Chas. Clough $140.00 Retain salvage <br />25412 State Road #2 175.00 Stack salvage <br />South Bend, Inc. <br />Since both bids were in order, and it appearing that the bid of <br />Chas. Clough is the lowest and best bid, it is now so awarded to Chas. <br />Clough. <br />
