October 14, 1964 <br />A special meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Wednesday, <br />October 14, 1964 atjD:00 A.M. Present were Messrs. Jame's A. Bickel, Lloyd <br />S. Taylor, Richard J. Duck, James W. Oberfell, attorney, Fireman John <br />Cunningham and Fire Chief Cecil McHenry, <br />RE: SUSPENSION - FURM JOHN MI <br />It was first stated that M:r. Cunningham has been suspended from the Fire <br />DepartPent since May 15, 1964 continuing up to and including October 15,, <br />1964. t1r. Oberfell asked the Boardts permission to continue the suspension <br />until November 1, 1964, as the above mentioned party has medical exam <br />to take care of in the next week or so. The Board granted the extensor. <br />Mr. Cunningham is to report back to work on November 1, 1964 at the <br />Alarm Station. Chief McHenry pointedoutthat the above would be <br />stationed there as there is less chance of him being hurt in the line <br />of duty since he is subject to these attacks. <br />Mr. Cunningham brought up vacation or leave time. Mr. Mickel stated <br />that after checking legally the amount of time the above is entitled to, <br />a settlement would be made in cash, rather than time off. The above <br />named subject also expressed his concern for being penalized for slow <br />payment of bills he hasincurredduring the last five months. Chief <br />McHenry stated that all of this would be taken into consideration if the <br />situation should arise, <br />Mr. Cunningham. was told to sign another insurance card so that he would <br />be covered by insurance in the future. <br />Both parties agreed upon return time and assignment, <br />There being no further business to cane before the Board, the meeting <br />was adjourned at 10:3O A.M. <br />Attest: RichirdM.
