RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY ADMIN- <br />ISTRATION FILE AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE FOR <br />THE PURPOSE OF DEFREYING THE EXPENSE OF PROVIDING <br />A FIRE WORKS DISPLAY IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE <br />ETHNIC FESTIVAL. <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend recognizes <br />that the annual Ethnic Festival which has taken place within the City <br />has been a festive and successful program, and <br />WHEREAS, the Council recognizes that a part of the success of <br />this program is the highly attended fire works display, and <br />WHEREAS, the celebration of the Ethnic Festival and the Fourth <br />of July are key examples of the type of warm fellowship generated <br />within our community, and <br />WHEREAS, the Council has determined that there is not only the <br />need but also an overwhelming interest by our citizens to have our <br />own fire works display in conjunction with the Ethnic Festival and <br />the celebration of the Fourth of July. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City <br />of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: <br />SECTION I. That the Common Council recommends the City Administration <br />to file an appropriation ordinance for a sum not to exceed Ten Thousand <br />Dollars ($10,000.00) for the purpose of defraying the expense of providing <br />a fire works display in conjunction with the Ethnic Festival and the <br />Fourth of July. <br />SECTION II.
