52 <br />.July 6, 1964 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />July 6, 1964 at 10:00 A.M. Messrs. Robert J. DuComb and James A. <br />Bickel were present. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the <br />various suppliers. <br />REQUEST: 12 MINUTE PARKING ( MRS. KEKKO ,) <br />Comes now Mrs. Kekko, owner of Amy's Lounge at 219 N. Michigan Street, <br />and requests that a 12 Minute parking space be approved for the location <br />in front of her business establishment, instead of the one hour zone <br />now approved at this location. Mrs. Kekko claims that she is losing <br />pick-up and aakry-out business because of this. <br />After hearing Mrs. Kekko, the Board referred the request to Mr. Clem <br />Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, for investigation and recommendation. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER: TRAFFIC SIGNS <br />Following the recommendation of Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, the <br />following installations were approved. - <br />1 hour time limit signs installed to cover 701 S. Michigan Street. <br />Stop signs installed on St. Joseph Street, southeast corner, at Pennsylvania <br />Avenue. <br />Stop sign installed on Sunnymede Avenue, northeast corner, at Eddy Street. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT: REQUEST FROM COUNCILMAN ALUN ( INSTALL SCREENS) <br />Following a request by Councilman Allen, the Board insructed Fire <br />Chief McHenry to assume the responsibility so that screens are installed <br />in three windows in the Council Chambers, City Hall. Councilman Allen <br />advised the Board that the screens are needed because of insects and <br />birds which create a nuisance. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT: SUB -STANDARD DIVISION - PROGRESS aml <br />Comes now Rev. Bowles, with reference to property he owns at 138 S. <br />Falcon Street and informed the Board that this property is now cleaned <br />of debris in accordance with instructions of the Board. <br />SPECIAL POLICE CCIuESSION t J. PERRY ) <br />Following the recommendation of Police Chief H ampton, James Perry was <br />approved as a special policeman to act as a City Employee and be stationed <br />at Pinhook Park. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT: RELEASE OF PETITIONS FOR STREET LIGHTS <br />Mr. Eugene Radecki, Superintendent of the Electrical Department, inquired <br />of the Board if installations of street lights could be made. <br />Mr. James A. Bickel, City Controller, advised the Board that he required <br />one more week to complete survey of budget on street light installations. <br />Following the recommendation of the City Controller, the Board continued <br />such installations for one week. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street Light Outage Reports were approved and ordered placed on file. <br />RE: WEIGHTS & MEASURES STATION WAGON BID <br />It having been brought to the attention of the Board of Public Safety <br />that the Board on the 25th day of May, 1964 did let a bid to Gates <br />Chevrolet as the lowest and best bidder for a station wagon for the <br />1 <br />C <br />11 <br />
