June 1, 1964 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />June 1, 1964 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the <br />last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved <br />and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />AWARDING BID• FIM DEPAR RADIO RECE & SIGNALING DEVICE <br />After examination, it appearing that the following bid which was the <br />only bid received, is in accordance with the specifications for the <br />radio equipment required, it is now awarded: <br />Motorola Communications and Electronics, Inc. <br />4900 W. Flournoy St. <br />Chicago 44, Ill. <br />15- Motorola FM Monitor Receivers $3,255.00 <br />1-Motorola Selective Signaling Device 780.00 <br />1-Motorola VHF Radio, pager 381..00 <br />Total $4,446.00 <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER: TRAFFIC SIGNS <br />Following the recommendation of the Traffic Engineer, the following <br />installations were approved: <br />Yield Sign installed on Dogwood Drive, southeast corner, at <br />Mayflower Circle <br />30 Minute Time Limit signs installed on, east side of 600 block <br />N. Michigan Street from Navarre Street to Dinan Court. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT (-SPECIAL POLICE COMMISSION - MCGEE ) <br />A Special Police Commission for Bud McGee, employed by Walter W. <br />Jenczewski, Private Investigator, was approved pending receipt and <br />approval of a Special Police Bond. <br />APPLICATION: POLICE I3EPARTIV�NT <br />An application for the Police Department from Thomas Bruce Wroblewski <br />was accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />WEIGHTS & 1EASURES ( MONTHLY REPORT ) <br />A report from the Department of Weights & Measures for the month <br />of April, 1964 was accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT: SUB -.STANDARD DIV. ,( HEARINGS ) <br />Comes now Mr. John Grabarz, of the Sub -.Standard Division of the Building <br />Department, and Mr. Melvin Taylor, owner of property commonly described <br />as 830 S. Rush Street. <br />Mr. Taylor was called before this Board to show cause why he has failed <br />to complete demolition of the structure on the above -described property <br />as ordered in 1961. <br />After hearing Mr. Taylor who thought structure could be repaired and <br />after hearing Mr. Grabarz who advised the Board that the present structure <br />was unsafe and having examined photographs of the subject property, it <br />was the decision of the Board that demolition be completed in two weeks <br />or the Board would order structure demolished and charged to the owner. <br />
