28 4 <br />TWO STREET LIGHT INSTALLATIONS: ( BROADWAY - LWW & RYER <br />Following the recommendation of Eugene Radecki, Superintendent of the <br />Electrical Department, the following installations were approved: <br />4000 lumen street light replaced by one 10,000 lumen street <br />light at intersection of Lincoln Way West and Ryer St. <br />2. 1 - 4000 lumen OH street light installed at 227 E, Broadway <br />PETITION: REQUEST FOR STREET LIGHT ( ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT ) <br />A Petition from residents of E. Ewing Avenue requesting a street light <br />to be installed on the north side of East Ewing Avenue approximately <br />40 to 50 feet west of Ironwood Drive was submitted to the Board. <br />The Petition was referred to the Electrical Department for investigation <br />and recommendation. <br />MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FIRE DEPARTMENT - U. S. AIR FORCE ) <br />A Memorandum of Understanding between the 9517th Air Force Reserve <br />Recovery Squadron (CONAC) United States Air Force, St. Joseph County <br />Airport and the South Bend Fire Department was approved by the Board. <br />According to the terms of said Memorandum, the Fire Department proffers <br />the use of certain items, listed below, to the U. S. Air Force for part <br />time use in order to aid the national defense: <br />1 Chief' s Assistant car <br />i Ambulet <br />2 Pumpers <br />1 Ladder Truck <br />The Memorandum will be returned to the U. S. Air Force Commander for <br />signature, returned and placed on file. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT; APPLICATION <br />An application for the Fire Department from Melvin Thomas Chrapliwy <br />was accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT: PROMOTIONS ( WELCOME & WOLFE ) <br />Following the recommendation of Police Chief Irvin C. Hampton, the following <br />promotions were approved by the Board, effective February 169 1964s <br />Patrolman Wayne L. Welcome to Sgt., to remain on present assignment. <br />Patrolman Ralph J. Wolfe to Detective Sgt. to remain on present <br />assignment. <br />POLICE AUXILIARY SCHOOL PATROL: APPLICATION <br />An application for the Police Auxiliary School patrol from Mrs. Lottie <br />Julia Borowcki was accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />WEIGHTS & MEASURES: MONTHLY REPORT <br />A monthly report for the month of January, 1964 was accepted and ordered <br />placed on file. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT: MONTHLY REPORT <br />A monthly report from the Building Department for the month of January, <br />1964 was accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />I <br />
