5' <br />December 2, 1963 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />December 2, 1963 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes <br />of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were <br />approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />SUILDING DEPARTMENT: SUB -STANDARD DIVISION (HEARINGS <br />Comes now F. J. Nimtz, attorney, representing Mr. Orlie Foutch, also <br />present, with reference to property owned by Mr. Foutch at 412 <br />N. Lafayette Blvd. to show cause why property has not been brought <br />up to standard of ddmolished. <br />The property in question consists of three accessory buildings in <br />the read, more speciftcally called garages. Mr. Nimtz advised <br />the Board that it was not clear to his client what was required <br />of him ari4,that, further, he was the owner of only two of the <br />i <br />three buil(3i.ngs in the rear of the property. <br />After hearing Mr. Nimtz, Mr. Foutch and Mr. Grabarz, the Board <br />decided that the case be continued until December 16, 1963 and <br />directed that Mr. Nimtz, Mr. Foutch and Mr. Grabarz meet and <br />clarify the situation prior to the December 16 hearing. <br />With reference to property located at 813 W. Jefferson Boulevard <br />and owned by Mr. Leonard Campanale, Mr. Smith advised the Board <br />that Mr. Campanale had spoken to him and that it was agreeable <br />to him to demolish the property . <br />It was the decision of the Board that Mr. Grabarz advertise for <br />bids for demolition of the subject property. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT: RE., UEST TO ERECT CANOPY CR_L@ER SUPER MARKET <br />Comes now Mr. Louis Smogor, Building Commissioner, and requests <br />the Board's permission to allow Gruber Super Market located at 1847 <br />Prairie Avenue to erect a 4x28 ft. canopy over building. Said <br />canopy will extend over sidewalk 4 feet. <br />Based upon the recommendation of Mr. Smogor, it was the decision of <br />the Board to grant permission for the erection of the canopy, provided <br />the usual insurance requirements of $1009000 per accident, $300,000 <br />aggregate accident and $25,000 propetty damage is obtained. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT: _PERMISSION TO ATTEND MEETINGS SMOGDR AND <br />GR BARZ) — <br />Permission was granted to Mr. Smogor and Mr. Grabarz to attend the <br />Board of Directors meeting of the Indiana Inspectors on December 7, <br />1963 in Indianapolis. <br />Permission granted to Mr. Smogor and Mr. Grabarz to attend the Code <br />Changes Hearing of the Building Officials Conference of America <br />from December 11 through December 15, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT STREET LIGHT_ INSTALLATIONS <br />Following the recommendation of Nicholas Horvath, Electrical Department <br />Superintendent the following actions were taken: <br />The Board recommended the installation of street lights in the 1100 <br />block Ryer and the 1200-b1ock-Myer- Street - 4000 lumens. <br />The Board does not recommend street lights in the alley in the rear <br />of 510 Keasey Street. <br />
