September 16, 1963 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Safety was held on Monday, Septaber <br />16, 1963 at 10:00 A.M. Messrs. R. S. Andrysiak and Edwin L. Davies <br />were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting and the special <br />meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered <br />paid to the various suppliers. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION <br />Comes now John Grabarz, Director of the Sub -Standard Division of the <br />Building Department and advises the Board that Willie Lask, owner <br />of property located at `734 S. Bendix Drive had failed to appear <br />as ord,exed to show cause why prpperty had not been demolished as <br />ordered:, Mr. Grabarz requested permission to advertise for bids <br />for demolition. <br />Permission granted. <br />SPECIAL POLICE.OMMISSIONS: BUILDING DEPPARTMENT (SMOGOR_&.M©RROW ) <br />The Board approved Special Police Commissions for Louis E. Smogor <br />and Jack Morrow, Building Department Commission and Inspector, <br />respectively. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT ( INSTALLATIONS) <br />Following the recommendation of Nicholas Horvath, Electrical Depart- <br />ment Superintendent, the following installations were approved: <br />1 - Install a street light, 4000 lumen, at 126 S. Kentucky St. <br />2. - Install a street light, 4000 lumen, at 1530 S. Arnold St. <br />PETITIONS: STREET LIGHTS ( HARTZER STREET & BLAINE AVE.) <br />The following Petitions were submitted to the Board and referred <br />to Nich:blas Horvath, Electrical Department Superintendent for <br />investigation and recommendation: <br />1. Petition from Councilman Joseph Kroll for installation of <br />a street light on Hartzer Street from Goodland to Bendix <br />Drive. <br />2."PPetition from fir. and Mrs. Francis Wells and others for the <br />installation of a street light on Blaine Avenue from Vassar <br />Avenue to Humboldt Street at intersection of northwest alley <br />and Blaine Avenu:4. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER: TRAFFIC SIGN INSTALLATIONS <br />Following the recommendation of the Traffic Engineer, the following <br />in-stallations were approved: <br />Yield signs installed on Victoria Street, southwest corner, at <br />Twyckenham Drive. <br />Stop sign installed on Mill Street, southeast corner, at Center <br />Street. <br />2 Hour time limit signs installed at 1126 S. Main Street. <br />2 Hour time limit signs installed on Garst Street alongside 1024 <br />S. Franklin Street.--- <br />- - <br />
