by the Sub -Standard Division for public safety. <br />PROGRESS REPORT TRAFFIC ENGINEER ( PETITION TO REDUCE SPEED <br />ARCH AVENUE_) � <br />Clem Hazinski, submitted a report in response to a Petition from <br />residents on Arch Avenue, between Edgewater Drive and Lincolnway <br />East, to reduce speed because of the many children in the area. <br />After examination, it was Mr. Hazinski's recommendation that Watch <br />For Children signs should be installed at each end of the block. <br />If this does not remedy the problem, further studies and corrections <br />will be made. <br />Mr. Hazinski's suggestion and recommendation was approved. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT ( INSTALLATION Z <br />Following the recommendation of Roger DeClercq, Assistant Superintendent <br />of the Electrical Department, the following recommendation was <br />R approved: <br />1 - street light at 725 Dundee Street. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT MONTHLY REPORT <br />A Report for the month of July, 1963 from the Building Department <br />was accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT MOVE OUT OF CITY LIMITS - R. BEJMA ) <br />Following the recommendation- of Police Chief Harman, the Board <br />granted the request of Officer Robert Bejma to move from the City <br />into the country in the housing development known as Arlington <br />Heights which is two miles from the city limits. Officer Bejma <br />has twelve and one-half years service in the Police Department. <br />ST. JOSEPH COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT REPRESENTATIVE <br />Mr. Alex Dlugosy represented the Health Department at the meeting <br />of the Board. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER: LCLOSING PARKING METERS - DOWNTOWN AREA ) <br />Following a request by Miss Virginia §uthrie, Executive Secretary <br />of the South Bend Civic Planning Association, Clem Hazinski was <br />requested to check the necessity of closing certain parking meters <br />at W. Colfax between Michigan and Main Street, on Wayne Street from <br />Michigan to Lafayette. Also, Miss Guthrie questioned the necessity <br />of.yellow curbing on !Nest Jefferson from alley west of Michigan to <br />Fain Street, north side. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting <br />was adjourned at 11:20 A.M. <br />Attest: Antho'ny)J.
