July 15, 1963 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety`'was held on Monday, July <br />15, 1963 at 10:00 A.M. Messrs. Edwin L. Davies and R. S. Andrysiak were <br />present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. <br />Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to -the various suppliers. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( EARINGS� <br />Comes now Charles Sandor of the Sub -Standard Division of the Building <br />Department and advises the Board that property owned by C. Clayton, <br />located at 1013 S, Fellows Street had been further damaged by fire. <br />Mr. Clayton had appealed to repair the structure, but it was the opinion <br />of Mr. Sandor that the property was damaged beyond repair. <br />Case continued until July 22, 1963. <br />With reference to property owned by Fred and Patricia Strefling, located <br />at 919 Marietta Street, Mr. Sandor advised the Board that a continuance <br />on this case had expired on June 3, 1963 and no repairs.had been made <br />in order to bring property up to standard. <br />The Board directed Mr. Sandor to proceed with demolition, advertise for <br />bids and send notice to interested parties. <br />Mr. Sandor advised the Board that the Department had not been able to locate <br />owners of property located at 2125 Merry Avenue. Case continued until <br />July 22, 1963. <br />With reference to property.owned by Mx. Goldbert and located at 320 S. <br />'William Street, the Board was informed that Mr. Goldbert had failed to <br />appear at this meeting. Case continued until July 22, 1963. <br />Comes now Mr. Louis Smogor, Building Commissioner, and advises the Board <br />that property owned by Vern Burbridge, located at�202 S. Scott'Street had <br />not het bete demolished and that a four week extension had terminated. <br />He further reported that A & J Demolition Company had given a price of <br />$475.00 to demolish. . <br />The Board directed that the Department should proceed with demolishion <br />by A & J Demolition Company. <br />BIDS TO DEMOLISH <br />The Board.was informed by Mr. Sandor that the following bids had been <br />received for demolition of property located at 122 E. Paris Street' <br />A_& J_Demolition Com2annv _ $550.00 with salvage <br />565.00 without salvage <br />B & 0 Building_& Wrecking Co. $675.00 with salvage <br />725.00 without salvage <br />The Board ruled that the contract be awarded to A & J Demolition Company <br />for $550.00. <br />The Board was informed that A & J Demolition Company had bid $75.00 for <br />demolition of property located at 2224 W. Orange Street. This was the <br />only bid received. The Board ordered that demolition bid be accepted and <br />to proceed with demolition. <br />
