�a <br />July 1, 1963 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />July 1, 1963 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the <br />last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved <br />and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />RE: MATTER OF FIREMAN DAVID MEZYKOWSKI( PROBATION FIREMAN <br />With reference to disciplinary ma.tt_eri against Fireman David Mezykowski, <br />since he is still on probation, the Board directs that whatever action <br />the Fire Chief wishes to take will be satisfactory. <br />The Board requests that the Fire Chief submit a report to the Board at <br />the meeting of July 8, 19639 with recommendation. <br />RE: —SIX MONTHS REPORTS ON PROBATION FIREMEN BALUKIEWICZ & JOZWIAK <br />Reports from Lt. John A. Fiichak, Squad #21 with reference to the <br />first six months' of training concerning Probation Fireman Thomas J. <br />Jozwiak and from Lt. Andrew A. Vargyas, Aerial No. 1 concerning Probation <br />Fireman Thomas A. Balukiewicz were accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT RETIREMENT CPL. D_F. BETZL <br />The Board accepted, with regret, the request from Cpl. Donald F. Betz <br />of the Police Department, for retirement, after 21 years, 4 months and <br />21 days of service, effective July 22, 1963. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT: MILITARY,,LEAVELOFFICER R. E. SODTT_) <br />Permission has been granted fficer R. E. Scott of the Police Department <br />to attend summer camp with Army Reserve Unit from July 20, 1963 to <br />August 11, 1963. Officer Scott will be stationed at Tooele, Utah, Army <br />Depot for two weeks of scholling. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT MONTHLY REPORT <br />The Board accepted a report for the month of May, 1963 from the Police <br />Department and ordered that said Report be placed on file. <br />BUILDING —DEPARTMENT: SUB -STANDARD DIVISION HEARINGS <br />Comes now.John Grabarz, Director of the Sub -Standard Division of the <br />Building Dep:artment,with reference'to the repair of property located at <br />2220 W. Dunham Street, owned by March Realty Company. The cost of repairs <br />on this property is $3,290.14. <br />1 <br />A request to continue this matter for 60 days in order to complete the job <br />was granted. Case continued until September 9, 1963. <br />With reference to property located at 122 E. Paris Street, owned by Mr. <br />Rightley, Mr. Grabarz reported that Certified mail addressed to Mr. Rightley <br />had been returned marked '*unclaimed." <br />The Board directed Mr. Grabarz to take measures to demolish the property <br />in question. <br />With reference to property located at 525 Cottage Grove Avenue, owned by <br />Mrs. K. Glaser, Mr. Grabarz Was directed by the'_Board' to 'arrange: -:to: have <br />advertisements placed for taking of bids and also send to Mrs. Glazer <br />and Mr. Harry Taylor, attorney, notice of such intention by Registered <br />Mail. <br />The advertisements will be held up for one week to allow sufficient time <br />for the owner and her attorney to receive letters and appear, if they wish. <br />
