June 17, 1963 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />June 17, 1963 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of <br />.the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were <br />approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION (_HEARINGS <br />Comes now John Grabarz, Director of the Sub -Standard Division of the <br />Building Department and advises the Board that Vestor Heron, 1107 High <br />Street had been asked to appear before the Board but had failed to <br />do so, to show cause why property had not been brought up to standard. <br />After hearing Mr. Grabarz, the Board directed that the property be <br />ordered condemned. <br />With reference, to property located at 517 E. Bronson Street, owned by <br />Ivan Rogers, Mr. Grabarz reported that the house has been damaged by <br />dry <br />fire and that the owner had started to tear it down but had not completed <br />the job in accordance with the rules of the Building Department. <br />The Board directed Mr. Grabarz to take steps to have structure removed. <br />With reference to property owned by Mrs. James Caufman, located at 317 S. <br />Kentucky greet, Mr. Grabarz was directed to issue condemnation orders. <br />Comes now Louis Smogor, Building Commissioner, with reference to <br />property located at 202 S. Scott, Street, owned by Vern Burbridge. <br />Mr. Smogor advised the Board that this structure was being torn down <br />by Mr. Burbrildge but that work was progressing so slowly that it would <br />be impossible to say when the demolition would be completed. Mr. <br />Smogor also advised the Board that the work could be completed in 30 <br />days. <br />The Board, after hearing Mr. Smogor and also after hearing Mr. Vern <br />Burbridge who was present) ruled that the structure shall be demolished <br />in thirty days. <br />KIIST: CLOSE ALLEY - ( OLIVER ANNEX REPAIR <br />H. G. CHRISTMAN CONSTRUCTION C0� INC. <br />H. G. Christman Construction Co., Inc. requested permission to close <br />the alley north of the Oliver Annex, or DbComb Apartments, from June <br />18, 1963 for a period of two weeks during the repair of the Oliver Annex. <br />Permission granted and the Clerk directed to notify the City Departments. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER: INSTALLATIONS ( TRAFFIC SIGNS ) <br />Following the recommendation of Clem Hazinskip Traffic Engineer, the <br />following installations were approved: <br />30 Minute time limit signs installed at 1815 S. Miami St. <br />2 Hour time limit signs installed at 1702 W. Washington ?Avenue. <br />1 Hour time limit signs installed at 922 E. Jefferson Blvd. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT_ MILITARY LEAVE RUSSELL L. HUNf ) <br />Permission was granted Inspector Russell L. Hunt of the Police Department <br />to attend the U, S. Army Command & General Staff Reserve School from <br />July 1, 1963 to July 13, 1963 at Camp McCoy, Wisa) nsin. <br />Permission granted. <br />
