1-7 7. BUILDING DEPARTMENT _-SUB-STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARING Comes now Eles Shum, *ho its presently buying property located at 2119 Bertrand S�reet, on order from the Board, to report what progress he has made in bringing property up to standard. Mr. Shum reported to Mr. Grabarz who was also present, that he had no written information but that he had talked with individuals concerning repair of property. After hearing Mr. Grabarz and Mr. Shum, it was the decision of the Board that Mr. Shum be allowed four months to complete the work, as stipulated in the meeting of May 139 1963. However, the Board further stipulated that work must begin within one month or demolition will proceed. Mr. Grabarz was directed to so notify the former owners and present holders of the Land Contract of this arrangement. With reference to property located at 1302 Chapin Street, Mr. Grabarz informed the Board that letters to Mr. Abe Bradley, owner of the property and Otto Pozgay, attorney, had been sent via Certified Mail, Return Receipt Requested. The letters advised that the extension allowed to repair the property had expired and pending-,the'FSib-Standard.Divisiba's:inv.estigation, t"hit`_da.teo':.Perml§sion would be asked of the Board to advertise for bids for demolition. Mr. Grabarz reported that he had not received the Return Receipt from Mr. Pozgay. It was the decision of the Board to continue the hearing for one week to allow time for acknowledgment of the letters. With reference to property located at 1613 W. Ewing Avenue, Mr. Grabarz reported that the owners did not want anything to do'.with this property. ft- .Grabarz was directed by the Board to proceed with taking of bids for demolition. POLICE DEPARTMENT (_LETTER OF COMPLIMENT A letter from Mr. Karl DuBail, 112 S. Notre Dame Avenue, to Police Chief Harman, copy to the Board of Public Works & Safety, was submitted to the Board. The letter complimented Officers Loren Bussert and Ernest Busch for their courteous and considerate behavior at the time Mr.DtBail required the services of the Police Squad Car for emergency treatment in St. Joseph Hospital as the result of a slight accident. Mr. DuBail requested that the two officers be commended for their good work. The letter was accepted and ordered placed on file and the Clerk of the Board directed to express the Board's appreciation to the Officers involved. APPLICATION ( POLICE DEPARTMENT An application from Hugh Aaron Ort for the Police Department was accepted and ordered placed on file. ACCIDENT REPORT ( POLICE DEPARTMENT A non -injury accident report from the Police Department was accepted and ordered placed on file.
