1-7 7. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT _-SUB-STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARING <br />Comes now Eles Shum, *ho its presently buying property located at <br />2119 Bertrand S�reet, on order from the Board, to report what <br />progress he has made in bringing property up to standard. <br />Mr. Shum reported to Mr. Grabarz who was also present, that he had <br />no written information but that he had talked with individuals <br />concerning repair of property. <br />After hearing Mr. Grabarz and Mr. Shum, it was the decision of <br />the Board that Mr. Shum be allowed four months to complete the <br />work, as stipulated in the meeting of May 139 1963. However, <br />the Board further stipulated that work must begin within one month <br />or demolition will proceed. <br />Mr. Grabarz was directed to so notify the former owners and <br />present holders of the Land Contract of this arrangement. <br />With reference to property located at 1302 Chapin Street, Mr. <br />Grabarz informed the Board that letters to Mr. Abe Bradley, owner <br />of the property and Otto Pozgay, attorney, had been sent via <br />Certified Mail, Return Receipt Requested. <br />The letters advised that the extension allowed to repair the <br />property had expired and pending-,the'FSib-Standard.Divisiba's:inv.estigation, <br />t"hit`_da.teo':.Perml§sion would be asked of the Board to advertise for <br />bids for demolition. <br />Mr. Grabarz reported that he had not received the Return Receipt <br />from Mr. Pozgay. It was the decision of the Board to continue the <br />hearing for one week to allow time for acknowledgment of the letters. <br />With reference to property located at 1613 W. Ewing Avenue, Mr. <br />Grabarz reported that the owners did not want anything to do'.with this <br />property. <br />ft- .Grabarz was directed by the Board to proceed with taking of bids <br />for demolition. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT (_LETTER OF COMPLIMENT <br />A letter from Mr. Karl DuBail, 112 S. Notre Dame Avenue, to Police Chief <br />Harman, copy to the Board of Public Works & Safety, was submitted to <br />the Board. The letter complimented Officers Loren Bussert and Ernest <br />Busch for their courteous and considerate behavior at the time Mr.DtBail <br />required the services of the Police Squad Car for emergency treatment <br />in St. Joseph Hospital as the result of a slight accident. <br />Mr. DuBail requested that the two officers be commended for their good <br />work. <br />The letter was accepted and ordered placed on file and the Clerk of the <br />Board directed to express the Board's appreciation to the Officers <br />involved. <br />APPLICATION ( POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />An application from Hugh Aaron Ort for the Police Department was accepted <br />and ordered placed on file. <br />ACCIDENT REPORT ( POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />A non -injury accident report from the Police Department was accepted and <br />ordered placed on file. <br />
