February 25, 1963 <br />A regular meccing of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />February 259 1963 at 10:00 A.M. Messrs. Andrysiak and Davies were <br />present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. <br />Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />Fol <br />E <br />DISTRICT) <br />Mr. Frederick Forsey, 224 N. Sheridan Avenue, appeared before the Board <br />and submitted a list of addresses of homes which, according to the <br />list, are empty. Mr. Forsey also stated to the Board that the <br />residents of this area do not want any more old houses moved into <br />this area. <br />Mr. Andrysiak explained that the Board has no control of this situation, <br />and that the best it -can do is to enforce the 3uilding Code and <br />see that houses that are moved into the area are brought up to <br />standard in accordance with the provisions of the Code. <br />The list was accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />Comes now John Grabarz and reports that a house located at 109 S. <br />Liberty Street is owned by Mr. Willis Devine. Mr. Grabarz informed <br />the+,Board that he had made an investigation of the house at 109 S. <br />Liberty Street and that said house is sub -standard. <br />It was pointed out that the Sub -Standard Division will issue a vacatian <br />order for this property, effective immediately. House will have to <br />be brought up to standard in all things before final approval. Mr. <br />Grabarz was directed to take whatever steps were necessary to see <br />that this matter is completed as ordered. <br />Mr. Grabarz submitted a progress report on the dwelling located at <br />261 N. Chicago Street, owned by Mr. Willis Devine. Mr. Grabarz <br />reported that the cribbing that the house is standing on broke and <br />that the house was broken in two. <br />Mr. C. Green, 201 N. Chicago Street, appeared before the Board and <br />stated that he did not want thys-:house on Chicago Street. <br />Mr. Devine was given a week's continuance in order to determine whether <br />this house could be brought up to standard. <br />The Board was advised that this house was moved on approximately <br />February 11, 1963 and that the owner is allowed 60 days to bring <br />property up to standard. <br />If the owner elects to bring property up to standard it must be complete <br />by the expiration of this 60 days period. In any event, the house <br />will have to meet all Code requirements before approval is given. <br />A snapshor_ of the --house at 261 N. Chicago Street was accepted and <br />ordered placed on file. <br />Mr. Devine.also stated that he will withdraw his request to move his <br />house from 261 to 142. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
