REPORT: PETITION FOR ONE WAY STREET LBEVERLY PLACE <br />Mr. Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, submitted a report on his findings <br />with reference to a petition.from residents of the area of North <br />Beverly Place between Oakwood and Lathrop Streets to make this section <br />of Beverly Place a one-way street. <br />The petition was referred to the Traffic Engineer by the Board. <br />After investigation, it is the recommendation of Mr. Haxinski, that <br />this petition be considered favorably and recommends installation of <br />such facility on an experimental basis, as provided by ordinance. <br />Following the recommendation of the Traffic Engineer, the Board <br />approved the petition, subject to the above stipulations by the <br />Traffic Engineer. <br />;�. <br />ELECTRICAL INSPECTION DEPARTMENT MEETING I <br />�(ATTEND <br />Permission was granted to Mr. Frank Biebuyck, Assistant Chief <br />Electrical Inspector, to attend the Indiana Chapter Meeting of the <br />International Association of Electrical Inspsctors to be held at <br />the Washington Hotel in Indianapolis on February 6, 7 and 8, 1963. <br />The Board was assured that there are sufficient funds in the budget <br />for this purpose. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMEENT_STREET LIGHTS <br />Following the recommendation of Nicholas Horvath, Superintendent of <br />the Electrical Department, the following installations were approved: <br />Ihstall 1 - 4000 lumen street light at Brookfield and Lathrop Streets. <br />Install 1 - 4000 lumen street light at 2219 N. Brookfield Street. <br />Install 1 - 10,000 lumen street light at Diamond and Portage. <br />(Remove 2 - 1000 lumen underground lights at Diamond and Portage.) <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />REQUEST: USE OF FIRE STATION NO. 3 LITTLE LEAGUEREGISTRATION. <br />Permission was granted for the East Side Little League to use Station <br />No. 3, 1805 McKinley Avenue for registration on February 9, 1963 from <br />10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. <br />AGREEMENT: FIRE PROTECTION PORTAGE TOWNSHIP ) <br />The Board approved an Agreement between the City of South Bend and <br />Portage Township to provide fire protection for the year 1963 in <br />accordance"with an Agreement setting forth the various provisions of <br />such fire protection. <br />The Agreement was executed and ordered placed on file. <br />APPLICATION: FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />An application for the Fire Department from William Molnar was accepted <br />and ordered placed on file. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT ( ATTEND COURSE - NORTHWESTERN ,UNIVERSITY ) <br />The Board granted permission for Sgt. Eugene Sikorski and Officer <br />Robert Urban to attend a course in "Essentials for Traffic" at Northwestern <br />University, Evanston, Ill., from February 11 to March 1, 1963. <br />Attendance has been approved by Chief Harman. <br />APPOINTMENTS: METER MAIDS <br />Effective February 1, 1963 the following Meter Maids will be appointed: Margie 0. <br />Ashes, Delphine Ladewski, Shirley M. Hite, Mary J. Solmos, Charlotte F. Nicks. <br />
