1 16 <br />December l7, 1962 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />December 17, 1962 at 10:00 A.M. Messrs. Ray S. Andrysiak and Edwin <br />L. Davies were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting and the <br />special meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved and <br />ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS <br />Comes now Mr. Theodore Prekowitz, attorney, representing Mr. Joseph <br />Binder and property owned by Mr. Binder located at 607 W. Wayne Street. <br />Mr. Prekowitz requested a continuance of this hearing. Request <br />denied. <br />A representative of the Sub -Standard Division of the Building Depart- <br />ment advised the Board that Mr. Binder had been given until December <br />10, 1962 to make necessary repairs on building,., and he had failed to <br />comply with this order. <br />After hearing the parties present, the Board ruled that the Sub- r, <br />Standard Division proceed with demolition order, and place advertisements <br />to this effect. Since demolition will not start for two weeks after <br />advertisements appear, it will give Mr. Binder and his attorney ample <br />time to show the Board whether there will be any repair done on this <br />structure. <br />Case continued until December 31, 1962. <br />Comes now Mr. Otto Pozgay, attorney representing the owner of property <br />located at 1302 S. Chapin Street, to'Lishow cause why Mr. Abe Bradley <br />who is purchasing this property under land contract has not complied <br />with repair order. <br />The Board was advised by the Sub -Standard Division representative that <br />all work has stopped three months ago. <br />Mr. Bradley appeared and informed the Board that he had been out of <br />work and would comply with repair orders as soon as he had sufficient <br />funds. <br />At his request, the case was continued until March 11 1962 at which <br />time this property must be -brought up to standard. <br />With reference to property owned by Miss Pearl Daar, located at 513-515 <br />Pennsylvania Avenue, the Board authorized the Sub -Standard Division of <br />the Building Department to award the contract for demolition to the <br />lowest bidder with the understanding that he does not start demolition <br />until after the next Board meeting which will be December 31, 1962. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER ( TRAFFIC SIGNS) <br />Following the recommendation of Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, the <br />following installation was approved: <br />15 Minute Time Limit parking (18 foot space) in front of 736 S. <br />Michigan Street. <br />SPECIAL POLICE COMMISSIONS AND BONDS SMOGOR, FISH. ZYMYSLO) <br />The following Special Police Commissons and Bonds were approved by the <br />Board and ordered placed on file: <br />1. Police Commission for Louis Smogor, Building Commissioner. <br />2. Special Police Commission and Bond for William Sterling Fish, Jr., <br />
