December 10, 1962 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, December <br />10, ;962 at 10sOO A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the last <br />regular meeting and the special meeting were read and approved. Vouchers <br />were approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />AGREEMENT: INDIANA STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION ( TRAFFIC LIGHTS - LINOOLNWAY <br />The Board entered into` -an Agreement with the State of Indiana through the Indiana <br />State Highway Commission to hang traffic signal lights from masts over the Lincoln <br />Way East and Ironwood Drive intersection. <br />Details are referred to the Traffic Engineer , Mr. Clem Hazinski. <br />Mr. Haxinski stated that the city will install the equipment and the State <br />will furnish it. Mr. Hazinski stated that records show that overhead lights <br />00 are more effective and intersections protected with them have a lower accident <br />rate. <br />ATTEND MEETING TRAFFIC ENGINEER ) <br />=4 Mr. Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, was authorized to attend the Institute <br />of Traffic Engineers and State Highway Department meeting in Indianapolis, <br />Indiana on December 12 and 13, 1962. <br />FIVE HOLR PARKING LIMIT TEST TRAFFIC ENGINEER <br />The Board authorized the Traffic Engineer to proceed with an experiment for <br />a five hour parking limit at curb space located in the 100 block east and <br />west on South; Street. <br />Mr. Hazinski informed the': Board that he wished to try this experiment <br />because the present one hour limit is not ehough time to allow shoppers <br />sufficient time to walk to the shopping district, do their shopping, and get <br />back to their cars. <br />Mr. Smith noted that if the change is to be made officially after the trial, <br />the action will have to be taken by the City Council. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER TRAFFIC SIGNS ) <br />Following the recommendation of Mr. Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, the <br />following installations are approved: <br />No Parking signs installed on both sides of LaSalle Avenue in the <br />300 block, on either side of Michigan Central Railroad spur line. <br />SPECIAL POLICE BOND_ <br />A Special Police Bond for Glen Francis Lowry was approved and ordered placed <br />on file. <br />ACCIDENT REPORT ( POLICE DEPT. <br />The Board accepted an accident report from the Police Department , dated <br />December 6, 1962 infolving Officer John Niezgodski, and ordered the Repott <br />placed on file. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARD <br />Comes now Mr. William Ramsey, 835 <br />DIVISION ( HEARINGS ) <br />36th Street, representing the McNulty <br />Realty Company with reference to property owned <br />by Miss Pearl Daar, located <br />at 513-515 Pennsylvania Avenue. <br />Mr. Ramsey informed the Board that <br />the McNulty <br />Realty Company had been <br />authorized by Miss Daar to attempt <br />to sell this <br />property and he requested <br />
