December 10, 1962 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, December 10, ;962 at 10sOO A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting and the special meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. AGREEMENT: INDIANA STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION ( TRAFFIC LIGHTS - LINOOLNWAY The Board entered into` -an Agreement with the State of Indiana through the Indiana State Highway Commission to hang traffic signal lights from masts over the Lincoln Way East and Ironwood Drive intersection. Details are referred to the Traffic Engineer , Mr. Clem Hazinski. Mr. Haxinski stated that the city will install the equipment and the State will furnish it. Mr. Hazinski stated that records show that overhead lights 00 are more effective and intersections protected with them have a lower accident rate. ATTEND MEETING TRAFFIC ENGINEER ) =4 Mr. Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, was authorized to attend the Institute of Traffic Engineers and State Highway Department meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana on December 12 and 13, 1962. FIVE HOLR PARKING LIMIT TEST TRAFFIC ENGINEER The Board authorized the Traffic Engineer to proceed with an experiment for a five hour parking limit at curb space located in the 100 block east and west on South; Street. Mr. Hazinski informed the': Board that he wished to try this experiment because the present one hour limit is not ehough time to allow shoppers sufficient time to walk to the shopping district, do their shopping, and get back to their cars. Mr. Smith noted that if the change is to be made officially after the trial, the action will have to be taken by the City Council. TRAFFIC ENGINEER TRAFFIC SIGNS ) Following the recommendation of Mr. Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, the following installations are approved: No Parking signs installed on both sides of LaSalle Avenue in the 300 block, on either side of Michigan Central Railroad spur line. SPECIAL POLICE BOND_ A Special Police Bond for Glen Francis Lowry was approved and ordered placed on file. ACCIDENT REPORT ( POLICE DEPT. The Board accepted an accident report from the Police Department , dated December 6, 1962 infolving Officer John Niezgodski, and ordered the Repott placed on file. BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARD Comes now Mr. William Ramsey, 835 DIVISION ( HEARINGS ) 36th Street, representing the McNulty Realty Company with reference to property owned by Miss Pearl Daar, located at 513-515 Pennsylvania Avenue. Mr. Ramsey informed the Board that the McNulty Realty Company had been authorized by Miss Daar to attempt to sell this property and he requested
