110 <br />December 3, 1962 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />December 39 1962 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of <br />the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved <br />and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />01 riLr:l Lluni o - 1nV1YVYWU 1jn1 V r: <br />The Board approved a proposal from Indiana & Michigan Electric Company <br />for the installation of 11 - 1O,000 lumen street lights on Uonwood <br />Drive from Edison Road to State Road No. 23. These lights will be <br />installed on 161- 9" upsweep brackets. <br />PETITIONS: STREET LIGHT INSTALLATIONS <br />The following Petitions for street light installations were referred to <br />the Electrical Department for investigation and recommendation: <br />1. Fairway Street from Sample to Silver Lane <br />2. Lombardy Drive from Sample Street to Meadow Lane. <br />REPORT: TRAFFIC ENGINEER MUSZYNSKI COMPLAINT - N.Y. CENTRAL RAILROAD ) <br />Mr. Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, submitted a report in response to <br />a complaint made by Councilman Muszy!nski against the New York Central <br />Railroad for the condition of their tracks at the Harris Street crossing. <br />Mr. gazinski reported that he had contacted the New York Central System <br />preidously and the work was programmed. However, a follow through was made <br />and this crossing was repaired by application of black top material on <br />Thursday, November 29, 1962. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER - TRAFFIC SIGNS <br />Following the recommendation of the Traffic Engineer, the Board approved <br />the following installations: <br />12 Minute Parking at this Meter sign on 1st parking meter north of <br />Washington on east side of Main Street. <br />30 Minute time limie signs installed on south side of 900 block E. <br />Madison. <br />1 hour time limit signs at 126 S. Scott Street. (2 signs) <br />2 - 1 Hour time limit signs on east side of 200 block Sycamore Street. <br />3 - 1 Hour time limit signs on east side of 800 Kosciusko Street along <br />side of 1551 W. Sample Street. <br />3 - 1 Hour time limit signs to cover 1921 Northside Blvd. <br />2 - No Parking signs on north side of 700 block of W. Napier, beside <br />311 S. Scott St. <br />2 - 15 Minute Time Limit signs to cover 607 N. Michigan Street. <br />3 - 1 H,-,ur Time Limit signs on north side of 100 W. Sample Street from <br />Michigan Street to first alley west. <br />APPOINTMENT: FIRE DEPARTMENT( THOMAS A. BALUKIEWICZ <br />Mr. Thomas A. Balukiewicz, having fulfilled the requirements as set forth <br />by the Firemen's Pension Fund and having fulfilled the requirements of <br />the medical examiner, and since it seems apparent that said applicant is <br />able and qualified to carry out the duties of a member of the Fire Department, <br />the Board, following the recommendation of the Pension Fund and the <br />Fire Chief, does hereby appoint Mr. Thomas A. Balukiewicz as a member <br />of the South Bend Fire Department, effective December 3, 1962. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />A Report for the month of October, 1962 from the Police Department was <br />accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />1 <br />
