FIRE DEPARTMENT (_APPOINTMENT David Michael Mezykowski, having met all requirements of the Firemen's Pension Fund and having also met all other requirements of the Fire Department, is hereby appointed as a member of the Fire Department, effective November 19 1962. Nagy to the rank of Lieutenant Private Harold G. Waechter to the rank of Lieutenant FIRE CHIEF - ATTEND MEETING'.'. Fire Chief Andrzejewski was granted permission to attend a meeting in Indianapolis on October 31, 1962. ATTEND NATIONAL SAFEZY COUNCIL _CONMESS ( SGf. MILLER ) Permission was .granted Sgt. Robert Miller, of Traffic Safety Council, to attend the National Safety Council Congress in Chicago from October 30 to November 2, 1962. Transportation and expenses will be charged to the Traffic Commission Budget. RE: NEW YORK CENTRAL RAILROAD - TRAFFIC ENGINEER A progress report on the New York Central Railroad spur tracks on W. Washington Avenue was given by Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer. Mr. Hazinski reported that as the result of a telephone call to Mr. W. Barthlein, Division Engineer of New York Central Railroad on October 26, 1962, Mr. Barthlein had promised that this crossing will be repaired by removing ties and tracks in these sections and to replace properly. This work is to be completed by an application of black top to make for a smooth crossing. He further stated that this work should be finished within two weeks, depending on weather conditions. Mr. Hazinski submitted a confirmation letter from Mr. Baerthlein and promised to follow through on this program and report findings to the Board. PETITIONS: STREET LIGHTS The following Petitions for street lights were referred to the Electrical Department for investigation and recommendation: Street Light bwtween the 500 and 600 block of S. 26th Street. Street Light on Parkway STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file.
