September 24, 1962 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />September 24, 1962 at 10:00 A.M. DST. All members were present. Minutes <br />of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were alproved <br />and ordered paid to the various suppliers., <br />REQUESTS: WILLIAM R. MORRIS ( WOODCREST DRIVE ) <br />Comes now William R. Morris, developer of Chalfant Heights Addition, and <br />requests that three street lights be installed on Woodcrest Drive, a <br />newly opened street in the above -mentioned sub -division, and that a <br />street sign be erected at the entrance to Woodcrest Drive at Twyckenham <br />Drive. <br />This request was considered by the Board. The request for street signs`` <br />was referred to Dan Richardson, Street Commissioner and the request for <br />street lights was referred to Nicholas Horvath, City Electrical Department, <br />for investigation and recommendation to the Board. <br />A Petition from Mrs. Don C. Mennucci and other mothers in the vicinity <br />of Booth Tarkington School was submitted to the Board. These mothers <br />request police ".>protection for children in the kindergarten of Booth <br />Tarkington School from 10:30 to 10:50 a.m. when children are comine home <br />from the first session and children are going to the second session. <br />These children must cross Edison Road at Manchester Drive. This inter- <br />section has auxiliary police protection during the morning and afternoon <br />and at noon, but no protection for the kindergarten children. <br />The petition was referred to the Traffic Engineer for investigation and <br />recommendation. <br />PETITION: STREET LIGHt <br />A Petition for a street light between Kemble and Catalpa on Bruce Street <br />from residents in the area was submitted to -the Board. <br />The Petition was referred to the Electril Department for investigation <br />and recommendation: <br />STREET LIGHT OUfAGE_REPORTS <br />Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file.` <br />WEIGHTS & MEASLRES MONTHLY REPORT <br />A monthly report for the month of August, 1962 from the Department of <br />Weights & Measures was accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARING <br />-Q hearing on sub -standard structures located at 513-515 Pennsylvania <br />Avenue was continued for two weeks in accordance with a request from <br />Mr. Grabarz, Director of the Sub -Standard Division -of the Building <br />Department. Mr. Virgil Place who is interested in this property requested <br />a continuance in order to give him sufficient time to investigate the <br />possibility of bringing the property up to standard. <br />There being no further business to <br />was adjourned at 10:45 A.M. <br />Attests Anty J.
