MJ <br />September 17, 1962 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />September 171, 1962 at MOO A,M. DST. All members wove present, <br />Minute4,0 the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers <br />were approved and. ordered, paid to the various suppliers._ <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - M-STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS ) <br />Comes now John Grabarz, Director of the Sub -Standard Division of the <br />Building Department and Rev. Bowles with reference to property lv'cated <br />at 527 Euclid Avenue.. <br />Since this property has not been brought up to standard# the hearing <br />was continued for two weeks.at which time Rev. Bowles will submit a <br />plan of improvement or demolition orders.will be issued. <br />With reference to property located at 106 and 106* S. St. Louis Blvd.9 <br />comes now Mrs. Dorothy Grose who advises the Board that her former. <br />husband owns the real estate while she holds the mortgage. She requested <br />that the structures not be torn down and requested additional time to <br />get clear title to the property. <br />Other property owners appeared with the request that the structures <br />be torn down, and Mr. Paul Krusper, Councilman for the Fourth District, <br />appeared on behalf of the remonstrators. Councilman Krusper advised <br />the Board that the structures were overrun with termites and roaches <br />and the premises filled with.trash.and that there exists that represents <br />a health hazard. <br />After hearing those interested, the Board trade the following decisions: <br />The St. Joseph County Health Department must be notified immediately <br />and the structures must be fumigated on this date, September 17, 1962. <br />1.' Mrs. Grose must bear the costs of such fumigation. <br />2. The hearing will be continued for two weeks. Mrs. Grose will meet <br />with Mr. Grabarz after this meeting of the Board is adjourned, September <br />179 1962 and make arrangements to submit to the Board within two weeks <br />complete plans showing that this property will be brought up to standard <br />and submit a copy of all contracts with contractors necessary to bring <br />property up to standard in accordance with the provisions of the Building <br />Department. <br />3. All trash will be cleaned up. <br />4. A cistern on the property must be cleaned and filled up. <br />The hearing on this case will be set for October 1,.1962 at 10:00_A.M. <br />Comes now Mrs. Josephine Scott, wife of Mr. William Scott with reference <br />to property located at 740 N. Francis Street. <br />i <br />Mr. Grabarz advised the Board that Mr. Scott had been notified but had <br />not dons much work on this property. <br />In order to allow sufficient time for the orders of the Sub -Standard <br />Division of the Building Department to be carried out the case was <br />continued until November 19, 19629 at which time all work must be <br />completed or the structure will be torn down. <br />
