Colfax Avenue. <br />This permission is granted subject to compliance with all existing Codes <br />and subject to Proof of Insurance indemnifying the City of South Bend <br />for $100,000 per accident, $300,000 aggregate accident and $25,000 <br />property damage. <br />PERMISSION TO REMODEL BUILDING DEPARTMENT FREEMAN-SPICER <br />Based upon the recommendation of Verner Lane, Building Commissioner, <br />permission was granted to Freeman -Spicer to install a new front on <br />a building located at 520:S '_Lafayette Blvd. <br />This permission is granted subject to compliance with all existing Codes <br />and subject to Proof of Insurance indemnifying the City of South Bend <br />for $100,000 per accident, $300,000 aggregate accident and $25,000 <br />property damage. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT DUB -STANDARD DIVISION REQIjEFOR DEMOLITION ) <br />John Grabarz, Director of the Sub -Standard Division of the Building <br />Department requested permission to advertise for bids for demolition <br />of a structure located at 106and 106,2 S. St. Louis Boulevard, owned <br />by Jesse Grose. Mr. Grabarz advised the Board that Mrs. Dorothy Grose, <br />wife of Jesse Grose had assumed responsibility for the property and <br />will attempt to pay costs of demolition. Mr. Grose has not been able <br />to be reached by the Sub -Standard Division with reference to this <br />property. <br />Permission granted. <br />VERNER LANE RFSIGNAT ION <br />Verner Lane, Building Commissioner, advised the Board that this would be <br />the last Board meeting that he would attend as Building Commissioner, <br />since his resignation is effective Sep-cembcr 15, 1962 and he will be <br />on vacation from September 1 to September 15, 1962. <br />Mr. Lane thanked the Board for cooperation during his tenure of office. <br />The ,3oard, through Mr. Irving J. Smith, thanked Mr. Lane for his sincerity, <br />administrative ability and efficiency in carrying out the duties of his <br />Department and further stated that the Board hopes to be fortunate enough <br />to find a successor to ably fill the vacanty. The Board also wished Mr. <br />Lane success in his new venture. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT MONTHLY REPORT <br />A report from the Folice Department for the month of July, 1962 was <br />accepted by the Board and ordered placed on file. <br />
