August 13, 1962 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />August 13, 1962 at 10:00 A.M. DST. All members were present. <br />Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers <br />were approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS <br />,Comes now Mr. Virgil Place and represents himself as appearing for <br />and on behalf of Miss Daar with reference to demolition of property <br />owned by her and located at 513-15 Pennsylvabla Avenue. Mr. Place <br />requested that demolition orders be withheld in order to give him <br />sufficient time to determine the possibility of rebuilding these <br />structures. <br />After hearing Mr. Place, it was the decision of the Board to continue <br />this case until September 242 1962. <br />With reference to property owned by Mr. Blair and located at 502 <br />29th Street, the Board was informed by the Sub -Standard Division <br />representative that the property had now been back -filled. This <br />was done by the owner. <br />At the request of the Sub -Standard Division of the Building Department <br />this case was continued until August 27, 1962. <br />A hearing on property located at 1312 W. Jefferson was continued <br />until August 20, 1962 in order to allow owner to ascertain what <br />he wishes to do concerning this property. <br />A hearing scheduled for this date for property located at 660 Laporte <br />Avenue was continued until August 20, 1962. <br />CERTIFICA_T_E OF INSURANCE ( M. GILBERT AND SONS COMPANY - REMODELING <br />A Certificate of Insurance covering Bodily Injury and Property Damage <br />in connection with the M. Gilbert and Sons Company proposed new building <br />front was accepted by the Board and ordered placed on file. <br />APPROVAL: SPECIAL POLICE COMMISSION <br />The Board approved a Special Police Commission and Bond for Harold Kerns <br />who is employed by the Walter Detective Agency as a 'Merchant Policeman. <br />The Commission and Bond were ordered to be placed on file. <br />APPROVAL: SPECIAL POLICE BONDS <br />The Board approved Bonds for the following Special Police Officers who <br />are employed by Studebaker Local No. 5: Steve J. Toth and Harry Swartz. <br />The Board also approved a Bond renewal for Kenneth Robert McCarthy who <br />is a Special Police Officer. <br />All the above Bonds are ordered placed on file. <br />APPLICATIONS: POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />The following applications for the Police Department were accepted and <br />ordered placed on file: Calvin James Everly and Bernard Joseph Rouhselang. <br />
