Superintendent, the following street light installations were approved: <br />1 - 4000 <br />lumen <br />light <br />at <br />729 S. Grant St. <br />1 - 4000 <br />lumen <br />light <br />at <br />Cabot and Sterling Streets. <br />1 - 4000 <br />lumen <br />light <br />at <br />Rose and Sterling Streets <br />1 - 4000 <br />lunen <br />light <br />at <br />Peachtree Lane and Ironwood Drive <br />1 -,4000 <br />lumen <br />light <br />at <br />Oak Park Drive and Ironwood Drive. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT ( GILBERT'S REMODELING - CANOPY OVER SIDEWALK ) <br />Comes now Verner Lane, Building Commissioner, and requests the Board's <br />permission to allow.Gilbert's Men's Clothing Store to erect a canopy <br />10 feet 6 inches high to extend three feet over the sidewalk. This <br />is in connection with a remodeling of the store front. <br />Mr. Lane informed the Board that, upon inspection, the remodeling <br />conformed to all Building Codes. <br />The Board ranted the request for erection of the cano <br />� 9 q py, provided <br />all Code provisions are met and provided the City of South Bend is <br />indemnified with insurance for injury and property damage in the <br />usual amounts. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT MONTHLY REPORT <br />A report for the month of July, 1962 from the Building Department was <br />accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT —SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS <br />With reference to property owned by 11m. Metzger located at 1838 N. <br />Elmer Street, Mr. Grabarz, Director of the Sub -Standard Division of <br />the Building Department was granted permission to advertise for bids <br />to demolish but directed to notify the owner of such intention. <br />Permission was granted Mr. Grabarz to proceed with condemnation orders <br />for property located at 106 and 1062 S. St. Louis Boulevard and to <br />notify owner of such intention. <br />A complaint was made to the Board by Mr. Casimir Slott, 203 Chestnut <br />Street, that a vacant house at 2132 Chestnut Street is being used as <br />a gathering place for groups. <br />The Board requested Mr. Grabarz to check into this matter and also <br />requested the Clerk of the Board to notify the Police Department of <br />this condition and direct the Police Department to check into this <br />and submit a report on findings. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 10:45 A.M. <br />4o,6 <br />Attest: Antho .
