July 9, 1962 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />July 9, 1962 at 10:00 A.M. DST. All members were present. Minutes <br />of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were <br />approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />AWARDING OF BID - FIRE DEPARTMENT (1500 GAL. PUMPER_) <br />After examination of the bid submitted by the following supplier, <br />it was the decision of the Board to award such bid, which is as <br />follows: <br />Maxim Motor Co. <br />Middleboro, Mass. <br />1 - Maxim Custom Built Pumper - Model F-26215 1500 Gal. <br />Triple Combination Motorized Pumping Fire Apparatus <br />in accordance with specifications $30,590.74 <br />Above price includes radio, as per specifications <br />INSTALLED <br />If uninstalled basis desired, deduct from above $$45.00 <br />It is the decision of the Board to award this bid, including <br />radio, uninstalled. <br />Total bid price <br />$30,545.74 <br />REPORT: COUNCILMAN MUSZYNSKIIS COMPLAINT (TRUCK TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT_ <br />A detailed report from the Police Department concerning the complaint <br />of Councilman Muszynski with reference to truck traffic through Swygard <br />Street and Indiana Avenue between Prairie and Walnut was submitted <br />to the Board. <br />The Police Department reported, in part, that a notice was put out for <br />officers working in the area mentioned above be on the lookout for all <br />violations and to find out who the violators are. The Department also <br />reported that each complaint will be handled, and an attempt made to <br />lessen any truck complaints, and if they are in violation, tickets will <br />be given and the company owners will be advised. The trucking companies <br />in the area are in full cooperation. <br />The report was examined by the Board and ordered placed on file and the <br />Clerk directed to report findings to the Common Council. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT ( HOUSE MOVE - ELWOOD & ELMER ) <br />With reference to a proposed house move from 220 W. Navarre Street to <br />Elwood and Elmer Streets, said move being handled by Irving Worden <br />who also owns the property in question, after investigation and due <br />deliberation, it was the decision of the Board that, because of the <br />long range program that the City has in mind to widen Elwood Avenue <br />at some later date, the request of Ns. Worden to move said house to <br />this property was denied. <br />RE: HOUSE MOVE ( EUUM & ELEWOOD ) LETTER FROM WHITCOME & KELLER <br />A letter from R. Park Wickizer, President of the Whitcome & Keller <br />Mortgage Co., Inc., with reference to Lot #16, Woolfer's Proposed <br />SE corner Elmer & Elwood concerning the possible sale to the City <br />of this lot which was recently purchased from Whitcome & Keller by <br />Irvin Worden was submitted to the Board. <br />The letter was examined and ordered placed on file. <br />1 <br />
