M <br />April 23, 1962 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />April 23, 1962 at 10:00 A.M. CST. All members were present. Minutes <br />of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were <br />approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />• + c &%W� {.cetaawp - MJL .L . ym ANU wUst-bKN ) <br />After investigating the matter of leasing city owned property located <br />at Western and Michigan Streets, Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, <br />reported to the Board that, after thorough investigation, Mr. Hazinski <br />had reached the conclusion that the elimination of the parking area <br />between the Grand Trunk tracks and the building at 336 S. Michigan <br />would add to the safety factor at that location by eliminating hazardous <br />vehicular movement. <br />Following this recommendation, no lease will be entered.into'.With a.:private <br />indivitual for this property. <br />+�v�+.uatry ucrfuslA9ct111 - .�U-biANUAKU t7IVISION ( HEAR_IN_ <br />Comes now John Grabarz and reports that Mr. Newbon, owner of property <br />located at 123 S. Iowa Street had failed to comply with a cleanup order <br />which was to have been completed by this date. <br />The Board directed Mr. Grabarz to request Mr. Newbon's presence at the <br />meeting of the Board on April 30, 1962. <br />With reference to property located at 502 29th Street and owned by <br />Mr. Blair, Me. Grabarz reported that the trash had not been removed, <br />as ordered. <br />Mr. Grabarz was directed to notify Mr. Blair to appear before the Board <br />if the order to clean up premises was not complied with. <br />With reference to property located at 106-108 Sadie Street, owned by <br />Mr. Bingham, this hearing was continued for 30 days. <br />LaEm"RE"i 4rKINU (: &M-iP WEEK INSEECTION.S <br />Comes now Fire Chief Andrzejewski and requests permission of the Board to <br />use the Fire Trucks to assist in making inspections in connection with <br />Spring Clean -Up Week. <br />The Board, being assured that this would not interfere with the normal <br />fire protection for the City, granted this request. <br />BOARD OF HEALTH ( REPRESENTATION AT poARD MEETING ) <br />Mr. Louis Keszei of the St. Joseph County Board of Health appeared <br />before the Board and requested permission to attend the Board meetings <br />in order to be on the premises in order to be cognizant of matters pertaining <br />to the Board of Health that might come to the attention of the Board. <br />Permission granted. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMEAtT ( INSTALLATIONS <br />Following the recomendation of Nicholas Horvath, the following installations <br />were approved: <br />1 - 4000 <br />lumen street <br />light <br />at <br />518 S. Pulaski <br />I - 40M <br />lumen street <br />light <br />at <br />1336 W. Dunham <br />1 - 4000 <br />lumen street <br />light <br />at <br />438 S. Pulaski. <br />1 <br />I <br />
