February 19, 1962 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />February 19, 1962 at 10:00 A.M. CST. All members were present. Minutes <br />of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were <br />approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARING) <br />Comes now Robert K. Rodibaugh, attorney representing Miss Daar, owner of <br />sub -standard property located at 512-515 Pennsylvania Avenue, and states <br />that Miss Daar had requested that he plead for an extension of time to <br />allow for the repairs to be made to the property in order to bring it up <br />to standard. <br />After hearing Mr. Rodibaugh, it was the decision of the Board that the <br />hearing be continued until July 2, 1962 at which time the property must <br />be up to standard or the property will be ordered demolished. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT HOUSE MOVE <br />Comes now Verner Lane and requests permission to m_ove.;a house from <br />E 517 S. Eddy Street to 936 S. Oakland, South Bend. The owner of the <br />house is John Nemeth, house mover is Irvin Worden. <br />Verner Lane stated that the house has been inspected and list of recommended <br />repairs has'been made. Also, that the necessary affidavits are on file. <br />After hearing Mr. Lane, it was the decision of the Board that the move <br />be allowed contingent on the various repairs being made, that a <br />Maintenance Bond and insurance of indemnification be secured. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARING <br />Comes now John Grabarz and Mr. Morgan, owner of property located at 601 <br />Pennsylvania Avenue. <br />Mr. Grabarz explained to the Board that Mr. Morgan, who is a tenant in <br />the house, has not vacated the premises as ordered so that repairs can <br />be made. Mr. Morgan is now on relief. <br />After hearing Mr. Grabarz and Mr. Morgan, it was the decision of the <br />Board that Mr. Grabarz coordinate matters with the Trustee and the hearing <br />was continued until March 5, 1962. <br />POLICE AUXILIARY APPLICATIONS <br />The following applications for Police <br />and ordered placed on file: Jeanette <br />Fairchild amd Ruth Elberta Dingman. <br />Auxiliary School Patrol were accepted <br />Evelyn Jimerson, Sharmaine Audrey <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 10:30 A.M. n ,1 <br />Chairma <br />AtteVr: Anthony"j./pabo, Clerk <br />
