1 <br />January 299 1962 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />January 29, 1962 at 10:00 A.M. CST. All members were present. Minutes <br />of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were <br />approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />ATTEND MEETING ( BIEBUYCK. ELECTRICAL DEPT.) <br />Comes now Mr. Frank Biebuyck, City Electrical Department employee, and <br />requests permission to attend a meeting of Indiana Chapter of International <br />Association of Electrical Inspectors in Indianapolis on February 7, 8 <br />and 9, 1962. Mr. Biebuyck states that there is sufficient money in <br />the budget for such a trip. <br />Permission granted. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT ( STREET LIGHT <br />Following the recommendation of Nicholas Horvath, -Superintendent of <br />the Electrical Department, the following installation was approved: <br />1 - 2500 lumen street light in the 200 Block of East Dubail <br />(to light up dead-end alley) <br />STREET LIGIHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARING) <br />Comes now Mr. Walter Snyder, 1022 E. Fairview, acting for and on behalf <br />of Mr. William Metzger with reference to real estate located at 1838 N. <br />Elmer Street and owned by Mr. Metzger. Mr. Snyder petitions the Board <br />that the matter be continued until August 6, 19629 at which time it <br />will be brought up to standard. <br />The Board now finds that the demolition order will be withheld until <br />August 89 1962. The Board also stipulated that, since this structure <br />is now vacant, that all openings be boarded up within two weeks from <br />this date to protect it from vandalism. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />A Report from the Police Chief for the month of December, 1961 was <br />accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />APPLICATIONS ( POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />The following applications for the Police Department were accepted and <br />ordered placed on file: John W. Thornburg, William L. Horvath, Edgar <br />E. McIntyre. <br />SPECIAL POLICE BOND <br />Special Police $and for Frank Skibinski, employee of Torrington for <br />February 1962 to February 20, 1963. Said Bond renewal was accepted, <br />approvwd and ordered placed on file. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meet <br />adjourned at 11:00 A.M. /j <br />I <br />Chairman <br />Attest: AnthlgnflJ.
