Page Two Lewis A. !IcGann December 2, 1980 As a part of the study process we will also be applying to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for a preliminary permit to generate energy. This application is made in order that the applicant may secure and maintain priority of application for a license for the project under Part I of the Federal Power Act while obtaining the data and performing the acts required to determine the feasibility of the project and to support an application for a license. We expect to submit these applications before the first of the year to meet a January 1, 1981 due date and are therefore submitting these resolutions at'this time because of your December meeting schedule. A copy of the actual application will be submitted to you upon completion. Should you have questions concerning the attached Resolutions, please contact me or Steven Compton of my staff.
