South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Rescheduled Regular Meeting -October 23, 2009 <br />LaSalle Square shopping center, and is south <br />of a vacant lot currently being used as the <br />Urban Garden Market. The LaSalle Square <br />Area redevelopment plan calls for the subject <br />property and properties to the north of the <br />site along Bendix to be redeveloped for <br />commercial uses. Staff wishes to acquire it <br />while it is vacant. <br />Resolution No. 261 1 sets the acquisition <br />offering price at $137,000, the average of <br />two independent appraisals. Staff <br />recommends approval. <br />Mr. Downes asked what the plan is for the <br />property when acquired. Mr. Vitton <br />responded that the building would be <br />demolished and the property included with <br />others on that corner when made available <br />for commercial redevelopment. <br />Ms. Jones asked if there are other properties <br />that we would like to acquire for the same <br />commercial development Mr. Gibney <br />responded that there is one other. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by <br />Mr. Alford and unanimously cai-~-ied, the <br />Commission approved Resolution no. 2611 <br />related to acquisition of property in the <br />Airport Economic Development Area. Bendix) <br />(4) Proposal for professional services in the <br />Airport Economic Development Area. <br />(Survey to update legal description) <br />Mr. Schalliol noted that staff requested a <br />proposal fi-om The Abomnarche Group for <br />the rewriting of the legal description for the <br />Airport Economic Development Area. The <br />proposal is in the amount of $4,400.
