Councilmember Karen White, Chair of the Personnel and Finance Committee, reported that they met and send this bill forward with a favorable recommendation. John Murphy, City Controller with offices on the 12th Floor of the County -City Building, stated that it has been the practice of the City to amend the budget quarterly, so this amendment proposed was the final one for the year. Mr. Murphy stated, We went through the list of enterprise government amendments earlier at Committee, so I will not repeat everything here. Several of these are small —those relating to the earning interest in the fund, which has been a little higher than in the prior year in the transferring of additional funds. The Century Center appropriation is for more activity. Both expenditures and revenue are higher this year than originally budgeted, so we are pleased with that. Councilmember Oliver Davis asked if this ordinance was concerned with the South Bend Police Department at all. It was clarified for him that that issue would be brought up in a later bill.
