366 <br />September 30, 1968. <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety met at 10:00 A.M. on <br />September 30, 1968, with all members present. The minutes of the two previous meetings. <br />were reviewed and approved. <br />APPLICATIONS - FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />The following applications for appointment to the Fire Department were received, <br />ordered filed, and refereed to the Personnel Director for further processing: <br />Richard Earl Fogle <br />Daniel Stephen O'Neil <br />Robert Ellis Baker <br />APPLICATIONS - POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />The following applicationsJor appointment to the Police Department were received, <br />ordered filed and referred to the Personnel Director for further processing: <br />Dale Roger Nicholas <br />_ David L. K. Supernaw <br />RETIREMENT - FIRE D;EPAATMKNT <br />Upon the recommendation of Acting Chief Joseph L. Zurat, upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the Board approved the retirement of fireman Clem Jaroszewski as of <br />October 1, 1968, fireman Jaroszewski having been appointed to the Fire Department <br />April 1, 1941, and having served 272 years with the Fire Department. <br />RETIREMENT - POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Upon the recommendation of Chief Thomas McNaughton, upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the Board approved the retirement of Robert R. Urgonski effective <br />October 6, 1968, officer Urgonski having been appointed October 6, 1948 and having <br />completed 21 years of service with the Police Department. <br />PROMOTIONS - POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Upon the recommendation of Chief Thomas McNaughton, upon motion made, seconded and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following promotions: <br />Lieutenant Kenneth McDonald to the rank of Captain. <br />Patrolman Walter Szynski to the rank of Detective Sergeant. <br />SPECIAL POLICE OFFICERS' BONDS <br />Special police officers' bonds provided by Drewrys Limited, U.S.A., Inc. as follows: <br />John M. Csakany <br />Edmund J. bosinski <br />George H. ST. LOUIS STREET <br />Upon the recommendation of the Traffic Engineering Department, after due investigation, <br />the petition for a street light across from 621 N. St. Louis Street, upon motion made, <br />seconded and unanimously carried, was denied. <br />REMOVAL OF PARKING METERS <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the recommendation of the <br />Traffic Engineering Department for the removal of parking meters was approved by <br />the Board, as follows: <br />
