May 27, 1968. <br />The Board of Public Works & Safety convened at 10:00 A.M. on May 27, 1968, <br />with all members present. The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed <br />and approved. <br />APPLICATION - FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />The application of Larry Leroy Campbell for appointment to the Fire Department <br />was filed and referred to the Personnel Department for processing. <br />RETIREMENT FROM FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />Upon recommendation of Fire Chief Cecil C. McHenry, upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the Board approved the following retirements: <br />Edward Hosinski - - - - Appointed 4/8/40. Retirement date 5/26/68. <br />Having served 28 years and one month. <br />John J. Pawlak - - - - Appointed 6/2/48. Retirement date 6/3/68. <br />Will have served 20 years as of 6/3/68. <br />Richard L. Sowala, Sr. - Appointed 6/1/68. Retirement date �124/68. <br />Will have served 20 years as of 6/2/68. <br />RETIREMENT FROM POLICE DEPARTMENT - EDWARD A. HAGENIERS <br />Upon the recommendation of Chief of Police Thomas McNaughton, upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the retirement of Edward A. <br />Hageniers as of 6/l/68, having completed 20 years of service. <br />REQUEST FOR CHANGE OF PARKING LIMITS - 2900 BLOCK MISHAWAKA AVE. <br />The request of Robert 0. Laven, Councilman, on behalf of a resident in the <br />2900 block on Mishawaka Avenue, for change of parking limits in this block <br />from two hours to 30 minutes or one hour, was referred to the Traffic Engineer <br />for investigation and recommendation. <br />APPROVAL OF STREET SIGNS <br />The Board approved the installation of the following signs, as recommended by <br />Clem Hazinski, Traffic Director: <br />Installation of a NO PARKING sign and post on the 900 block of Rush Street <br />(left hand arrow on sign). <br />Installation of two 15 MINUTE LIMIT signs in front of 1740 Lincolnway East. <br />Installation of NO PARKING sign s and posts on the east side of Michigan <br />Street, south of Donmoyer (75' south). <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS for the period 5/16/68 to 5/24/68 were filed. <br />There being no further business to come before the rd, the meetin journed. <br />at 11:15 A.M. 7 <br />Arthur W.
