333 <br />May 6, 1968. <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at 10:00 A.M. <br />on May 6, 1968, with all members present. Minutes of the last meeting were reviewed <br />and approved. <br />APPLICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT - FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />The following applications for appointment to the Fire Department were filed and <br />referred to the Personnel Department for processing: Jerry Dene Little, Irvin <br />Peter Nowacki, Jr., Irvin John Nowicki, and Robert Eugene Spencer. <br />APPLICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT - POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />The following applications for appointment to the Police Department were filed <br />and referred to the Personnel Department for processing: Kirk Alan Banacka, <br />Brian Leslie Campbell, Dennis Michael Cook, Otis V. Davis, Harlan Neil Higgins, <br />Gregory Allen Kajzer, Patrick Cecil Scott, Monte Max Seltenright, and James Louis <br />Smith. <br />REQUEST FOR REMOVAL OF METER #22 - 200 BLOCK S. ST. JOSEPH STREET <br />The recommendation of Clem F. Hazinski, Traffic Director, for the removal of <br />meter #22 on the east sideof the 200 block of St. St. Joseph Street to provide <br />I" space at the radius of the drive exit from the school administration building, <br />228 S. St. Joseph Street, for the reason that vehicles parked at this meter <br />often extend over the drive which was recently put to use by school administration <br />U <br />people, was approved by the Board. <br />V <br />"NO PARKING SIGNS" RECOMMENDED BY ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT <br />Upon the recommendation of Clem Hazinski, Traffic Director, the Board approved <br />the installation of the following NO -PARKING SIGNS: <br />Three no -parking signs with arrows and posts in the 3600 Block <br />West Longley (across from Bendix parking lot). Also paint curbs yellow. <br />Three no -parking signs amd'+posts on the north side of Crescent Street <br />across from EPS of 524 to Niles Avenue. <br />No -parking signs with arrows and posts in the 300 block West Longley. <br />Also paint curbs yellow. <br />PETITION FOR STREET LIGHTS <br />The following petitions for the installation of street lights were filed with <br />the Board, and referred to the Engineering Department for study and recommendation: <br />At 3407 Kent Lane, the petition of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Barr, 3420 Kent Lane, <br />Soutu Bend, Indiana, and 17 others, under date -of 4/29/68. <br />Kizer Court, at the intersection of the north -south alley between Leland <br />Avenue and N. Scott Street, by Edward W. Beahm, dated 4/29/68. <br />At intervals along Riverside Drive, from Bryan Street to Riverside Place, <br />by Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Blume and 25 others, dated 4/23/68. <br />APPLICATION FOR RESIGNATION FROM POLICE DEPARTMENT - MANUAL SADURAL <br />The application of officer Manual Sadural to resign from the Police Department a s <br />of May 15, 1968, upon motion made, seconded and carried, was approved by the Board. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />.Street light outage reports for the period 4/24/68 to 5/1/68 were filed. <br />There being no further business to come before th ard, the meeting adjourned at <br />11:35 A.M. <br />�---,Arthur W.
