Marche 4, 1968. <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at 10:05 A.M. <br />with all members present. The minutes of the pdrevious meeting were reviewed <br />and approved. <br />APPLICATIONS FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />The following applications for employment with the Police Department were <br />received and filed: <br />Eugene Michael Basker RNDiii;ldtXK)�)X18)�16K <br />Joanna Marie Carnes Theodore C. Najdek, Jr. <br />John Daniel Dylewski Eugene Edward Rose <br />Richard Kent Edsall Thomas Milton Shidaker <br />Ronald Lee Hunt James Dennis Szalay <br />REQUESTS FOR RETIREMENT - FROM FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />Fire Chief McHenry reported -that the following men had submitted their appli- <br />cations and declarations 'for retirement: <br />Joseph Francis Daly - Appointed 3/17/48. Retirement date 3/24/68. <br />Has served 20 years. <br />Roman J. Lesniewicz - Appointed 7/16/46. Retirement date 3/14/68. <br />Has served 21 years and 9 months. <br />Claude R. Borowski - Appointed 8/1/52. Disability retirement 3/1/68. <br />Has served 15 years and 7 months. <br />Upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously passed, said requests for re- <br />tirement were"approved by the Board. <br />DISABILITY PENSION - CLAUDE R. BOROWSKI <br />Fire Chief McHenry, President of the South Bend Firemen's Pension Board, <br />reported the South Bend Firemen's Pension Board had <br />granted a disability <br />pension to Claude R. Borowski, of the Fire Department, in the amount of <br />$275.00 monthly, or 55% of a 'fully paid first class fireman's salary, <br />effective as of March 1, 1968. Mr. Borowski was appointed to the Fire De- <br />partment 8/l/52 and is incapacitated from further fire service. <br />REQUEST IFOR EXTENSION OF SICK TIME - POLICE DEPARTMENT - EDMUND HAGENIERS. <br />Police Chief McNaughton requests extension of sick time over 30 days for <br />officer Edmund Hageniers. Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, <br />request was granted for extension of sick time for officer Edmund Hageniers <br />from March 4, 1968, to March 25, 1968. Lloyd S. Taylor abstained from voting. <br />It was noted that officer Hageniers is eligible for retirement in May, 1968. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street light outage reports 2/19/68 to 2/29/68 received and filed. <br />There being no further business, the meeting adjo ned at 11:40 A.M. <br />hur W.
