November 27 , 1967 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public works and Safety was called to order <br />at 10:00 A. M. with all members present. The minutes of the p#�Qvious meeting <br />were read and approved. <br />PRCMOTIONS OF THE SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />In the best interest of the Police Department, the Chief of Police, Thomas H. <br />McNaughton havingreeommendedhat the following police officers be promoted <br />to the ranks as following: <br />Sgt. Ralph Wolfe to Lieutenant (Community Relations) <br />Officers Paul Harvey, Marvin Martz, Michael Borkowski and Paul Losei <br />promoted to Sergeant. <br />It is now recommended unanimously by the Board of Public Works and Safety <br />that the preceding listed officers be promoted to these ranks effective December, <br />1, 1967. <br />DEMOTIONS OF THE SOU`Y = POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />The Chief of Police has also recommended that Sgts. Daniel Radman and Floyd <br />Chrapliwy be demoted to Patrolman in the best interests of the department. <br />The Board now votes unanimously to approve these demotions effective December 1, <br />1967. <br />REQUEST OF FIRE CHIEF <br />Fire Chief McHenry requested permission from the Board to attend the Great Lakes <br />Division Conference of the international Association of Fire Chiefs in Chicago, <br />1111nois on December 1, 2nd and 34d, 1967. The Board approved the request. <br />BONDS FOR SPECIAL POLICE <br />A Special Police Bond for the various special police officers of the South Bend <br />Tribune was approved and filed by the Board. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS 11 <br />The Street light outage reports for the week were filed by the Board. <br />There being no further business, the meeting w>q adjourned. <br />chairman <br />t <br />T RICH044J.
